Is he a liar or simply stupid?

Or both? In 2013 Obama said no boots on the ground in Syria. Today, boots on the ground.

Libs will claim that circumstances changed. But that still doesn't explain why Obama boxed himself in with the claim of no ground troops. The man is dangerously naive and the Middle East is imploding.

Can't a guy change his mind? Can't win around here. Some on here were clammoring for boots on the ground earlier and criticized him when he was against it and then when he decides to move in that direction, he gets criticized for that. That's why I don't pay much attention to yours or other criticisms regarding BO, you all will hate on him no matter what he does which is no surprise.

He recklessly and stupidly pulled all troops out of Iraq. Now we are back in again but in a greatly weakened state. He pushed the red line in Syria and walked away. The situation greatly deteriorated and we are going with ground troops. Amazingly inept foreign policy.

When you're President you can make the decisions. Critics criticize, that's what they do.

No lying. Change in policy. Sometimes leaders have to change direction. Very different than what is being referred to as a "Bush lie"

Troll is indeed still trolling though. That is consistent.

This was a good move, finally actually. Boots have been on the ground for several months, if you believe some rumors. Air strikes alone did not hamper ISIS in continuing its goal of world domination.

We would be in a far better position if Obama didn't blow it earlier in both Iraq and Syria, not to mention Eqypt and Libya. What a mess he's created.

I admit Bush lied. That's a big part of why he lost. Do you admit Obama has lied?

I wouldn't categorize either one of them as a lie.
If Bush knew he was going to raise taxes when he said that, it's a lie, if he didn't, then he had planned on doing one thing and ended up having to do another.

If Obama knew he was going to put "boots on the ground" when he said it, that's a lie. If he didn't, and he planned on doing something else, circumstances changed or actions re-evaluated and did something different then it isn't a lie.

"I'm not going to be buying new tires for my car this year" .... then I go and run over a bunch of nails that fell out of a truck and I have to go buy tires ... does that make me a liar?

Dead on correct. Some with agendas will post a bunch of nonsense in response.

Same as those that say, "Bush lied... people died...."

A lie takes prior knowledge that what you're saying you know is completely false.

So then he's stupid for making such a categorical statement leaving him no leeway?
