FWIW, I think his inconsistencies were primarily matchup related. The bigger the opponent the worse he performed. (Excepting Florida, who had the personnel, but then I think they didn't effectively use their size advantage v. Iowa.)I'm truly on the fence about wanting Alvaro back or not.
As we well know, when he scored double-digits in games, Iowa was 15-1. And below .500 when he didn't.
So that's empirical evidence that when he does play well, he's a great benefit to his team. And when he doesn't, he was more often than not a net negative, on both sides of the ball.
If he can work on being more consistent in being positively productive, he could be a very valuable returning piece.
He'll see limited minutes again next season if he remains as inconsistent as this past season.
He is NOT a banger and I don't think he can be made into one next year.
