Is it hyperbole to say UK has the best running back tandem in America?

RB get the glory while the O-Line does the work.
The running backs are the same it's how the O-Line is playing that been the difference.
I get your point and I agree to an extent.
All RB are most definitely not created equal.
However, you are correct in pointing out the strength of UKs O Line.
Without them opening holes our backs would not be breaking UK records seemingly weekly.

A rare occurrence at UK, TWO great backs with an excellent OL in front of them.

And they all could be back AND improved next year Along with almost everyone else, hopefully including a healthy Barker.

Anyone heard anything about how Drake AND Leavitt are coming along?

They're good. They, however, are not Leonard fournette and Guice from LSU. That's the best duo in the country IMO. Although I haven't been following U.K. Football as Lon as most of you, this is the best RB tandem I can remember here.

I wanted to say it in another thread, but I didn't want to jinx anything or put the cart before the horse...

I do believe uk's run duo and ground game in general will continue to gain some attention and respect in the conference at the very least if not nation. They still have 4 games to do some work, and I think they will.

Next year I believe UK as a whole will be a team talking heads tell everyone to keep an eye on and that our backfield should make some noise.

Agree to a point. Arliss Beach and Raymond Sanders wouldn't be having the type of success Benny and the Jet are though. They have elite talent as running backs. Just can't believe Benny was just a 3*. He looks like a seasoned veteran.

Wow. As far as guys playing in a major conference they actually have some of the best combined numbers. And Snell is only in the 50s instead of the 20s because he didn't play the first two games.

Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and Alabama might have something to say about that. But we're in the conversation.

It is funny that Benny was a 3*. Kid was raised to run the football, and is built like a Sherman tank. 38 carries for a true freshman in FBS play??? Did Chubb or Fournette ever shoulder that kind of load as true frosh? When I saw that stat at the end of the game I was actually a little irritated with the staff. Gotta put a blanket on that horse a little sooner, unless he really is from Krypton.

On the list rankings of the running backs one thing to consider is how good of a defense that they are running into. I do know that in the sec we do have some formidable defenses. If you played in a League where they play no defense then the numbers will be inflated.

So reading those combined numbers puts UKs pair at #4
Of the 3 pairs ahead of them....
New Mexico
South Fl.
Tulsa

None are from a power conference.

Thanks WC.

Agreed. I recently read on this board that Damien Harris isn't that good, he just runs behind a great OLine. I think both of our backs are really good, but the big uglies are the ones that make them look great on any team.

I agree, but our OL is definitely not in the same class as Alabama's. They are not as experienced or as mature. Will they be when their Seniors, no one knows, but I like them, and they will keep getting better with experience.

I know our O-line has been playing better than ever expected, but sometimes when you have elite running backs, they can sometimes make your O-line look better than they actually are. I don't care how good your O-line are, if you don't have good backs, it won't matter. When both units are clicking at the same time, we're talking serious yards gained on the ground. It has been a long time since we have had a pair of running backs as good as our duo. Its not something we're used to as Kentucky fans. Now that the secret is out about how talented Snell JR is, its going to be a lot of fun to see how teams game plan against. Lets just hope the coaching staff gives the kid the ball to make plays on the field.

I can also see those two being used as decoys to open up the passing gm if UGA and UT stack the box.
We have play makers at WR and TE.
Its pick your poison with this O right now.

It's really the year of the running back in the SEC. Lots of good ones out there and I'm very happy with our two as they give us a true "thunder and lightening" double threat - and as some have already mention our O-line is just SICK. Also Kemp isn't exactly chopped liver either, especially in the Wildcat.

Is it hyperbole to say Meeks/Kwilt43atbuzz is the worst poster on Catspause, with the constant board-cluttering "best of all time" this and "best in the country" that after every UK bball and football game for the last 5 years?

What happened to the self-imposed ban from the message board that was promised would happen if the 2014 UK team (the freshman Harrisons/Randle/Young team, NOT the 38-1 2015 team) didn't go undefeated?

And I do think Boom and Snell are fantastic. I'm thrilled at the idea of a senior Boom/sophomore Snell next year (and 2-3 more years of Snell at UK).

There's a kid who's left it all on the field every year he's been here. I reckon he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

He did before the season but he's been injured much of the year so he doesn't have the stats to back up his talent. But you're right we have 3 really good RB's.
