Is it time to be concerned about the 2019 class?

Nobody will ever that that tourny run away from me. :)

Taphorn to Pardon! The win over Vandy! Aww...good memories!

That was a great moment. I'd love to see Pardon be the first option on offense. He's been the best player the last couple years, regardless the stats.

If Collins does not replicate or exceed last year's recruiting haul, the state of the program will be questioned and that would be justified. With the current point guard situation, I just can't see this team getting back to the Tournament.

We’ll see. I think the current squad is definitely good enough to get to the NIT and be in that crowded mid-tier of the Big Ten.

I know some people around here despise the idea of the NIT, in no small part because mentioning it invites the Carmody discussion, but fact is that NU needs this talented young class to get some postseason experience. The way the roster is structured, the 2019-2020 team is going to be VERY young, but also perhaps more talented than any group Collins has ever had.

Provided the 2019 class pans out.

I'm the one guy on earth who really enjoys the NIT, particularly the on-campus format, but I would encourage everyone to stop with any mention of the NIT. It's become synonymous with "loser."

How about "no NIT." That is REALLY synonymous with loser.

A convenient boogeyman, even long past his expiration date.

When is the expiration date on BC references, seriously? After he's been gone more years than he coached here? Maybe after Collins leaves? Just let it be before incoming freshmen were born after he coached here.

Sadly, as long as there are people who are still very bitter about it (and we all know there are), it’s never going away.

A surefire sign that the program is not where they hoped it would be at this point and are worried.

I think you misinterpret old-fashioned bitterness and resentment for deflection. Chris Collins could win the National Championship this year, and I promise you I will still be bitching about the Carmody years.

Can we please not do this.

This is exactly why posters who actually have their fingers on the pulse of the program generally stay away from this board.
