The media wants to anoint a new QB every year as the second coming. Flacco, Matty Ice,Kap and now Newton again. There are 3-4 elite, 7-10 who you'd welcome on any team. He is not elite.
Breaking records and still losing.I think P.Rivers and big Ben should be in the debate over Cam. Rivers had a great outing today, breaking like 4 franchise records. He's just kind of a *****, though. But yeah, Cam is that dude.
Cam Newton is really, really, really good. He's got Greg Olsen and a bunch of chumps as his receiving core. My view is this:
Top Tier: Rodgers
Second Tier: Brady
Third Tier: Newton, Big Ben, Luck, Roma
Fourth Tier: Rivers, Matt Ryan, Flacco, Dalton (can't believe I'm writing that)
Fifth Tier: Palmer, Manning (It's sad, but he's got a rag arm now), Brees
Sixth Tier: Bridgewater, Stafford, Taylor, Smith, Bortles, Cutler
Seventh Tier and lower: Everyone else
I may have missed a few, but that's how I see it.
I think Brees and Palmer are better than that. Take either them over Romo.
Where is Russell Wilson?
You missed from the very start. I hate the Patriots but any list that doesn't have Brady in the top group is crazy.
You must watch much different analysts than the rest of us.There is hardly an analyst out there who doesn't think Rodgers is the best QB in the league. You can put Brady in the top tier, but I wanted to show that a younger Rodgers is the better QB.

Agreed - I forgot about Eli too. It was late when I wrote it. Eli's interesting to me. Is there a more streaky QB out there? When he's got it going, I'd put him up in the third tier, and maybe even with Brady. Problem is, he also has runs where he looks like Ryan Mallett.Decent list. I might merge the Fifth Tier into the Fourth Tier, and I'd include Eli in it. Payton is probably down with Bridgewater, Stafford, etc... for now. And I think Rivers is pretty solidly Third Tier; he has about 1.5 seconds on every throw. Flacco down maybe down with Cutler and Bortles.
Everyone I follow thinks Rogers is the best.
Maybe but nobody I watch leaves Brady out of the top two either. I agree with you that Rogers is in a different class I just don't see how anyone can not put Brady in that class too. I don't care how old Brady is; he is still as good as anyone in the game.
Nah. He getting elite $$$ doh.
Rogers and Brady are top tier.
Ends there...for now. You have to maintain that high level of play over a substantial period of time to make it to that status.
On a related note...I can't decide if Manning, the elder, holds it together enough for one last SB run this year a la Elway-style. (That defense is stout and they have a semi-decent running game...and i think he has enough in the tank to figure things out and turn things around a bit.) Or if he is a year past his expiration date. Either way...this needs to be his fair well tour.
Denver's Manning is in trouble right now. I thought he had lost his fastball last year, but now he looks like he's even lost his change up.
Newton is a bad dude. He has carried Carolina for since he has been in the league. He is top 4 or 5 right now. Brady, Rodgers, and Luck are the only guys I would surefire say are better than him right now, and Luck only based on last year. Palmer and Dalton are playing well this year too., but I ain't taking either of them over Newton.
Flacco is definitely not elite. Still think he sold his soul for that playoff run in a contract year. Hed been garbage prior to that, and hes been garbage since.
Rodgers may be the best combination of arm, legs, and brain thats ever played the position. Hes incredible to watch.
