Is Kaiya Sheron injured, suspended, or transferring?

Not one mention of the Oline - bunch of simpletons on here - nobody obviously played football. It’s all about the LOS but simpletons think the QB is the problem

-that's rich. Lmao.

^the simpleton take is to blame the oline.

-oline was fine today(have been getting blamed all year for levis's poor decision making and crappy play calling)...3.5-4 seconds in the pocket is plenty.

Maybe he lost his spot.

It's sad we have so many posters who advocate quitting over putting in the work to gain it back.

Probably a symptom of a society getting worse all the time.

I think Sheron got done pretty ****** to be honest. He should have atleast got a try. Makes no sense at all.
Wade did get a shot and was "done pretty ******".....by his own fans. Had Sheron played and thrown for 400 and 4 some would've found something to ***** about anyway. I thought Sheron should've had a go at it too, if able. Maybe we'll find out someday but the crack KY sports media is more interested in counting Wheeler's shots than find out why Sheron didn't play.

Does it matter? Wade, Sheron, and Hogan won’t ever play another down for UK. Leary is the pronounced starter for next year and Stoops only plays one guy. I would say Sheron is gone before spring practice, Wade changes positions and Hogan accepts a clipboard

Sounds like a well constructed roster with great talent evaluation if all of that comes to fruition.

What does that have to do with them leaving in a QB that clearly wasn’t ready and keeping a QB on the bench who we all saw play better with our own eyes.

I don’t know what the defensive rankings are but I would bet that Iowa is somewhere in the top 10 nationally in defense and that South Carolina is somewhere well outside the top 50. Comparing those two performances is a little short sighted. Do I think Sheron should have gotten a shot? Absolutely, but I honestly don’t think it would have been any better than what we saw from Wade.

I’ve known the Sheron family for a long long time. Kaiya didn’t lose his spot, the staff decided to play Wade to appease the family. I am of the personal opinion that he was unfairly treated in this situation, however the staff did get to answer the question and calling from some of the fan base to play Wade for over Kaiya which proved to be what most knew it would be; it was almost just as unfair for Wade to be thrown in there with a short handed staff and roster in front of his home town crowd. Kaiya played with his hands tied up for much of the South Carolina game and still managed to outplay Rattler. Kaiya isn’t nearly as mad about it as some on this site - he seems legitimately excited to play for Coen (who really likes him and his game) and with Leary.

Kaiya will get an opportunity to be a starter here at Kentucky; he’s the hardest worker in the QB room.

I have no clue if this is all correct. Having said that, I don't play any player just to appease the player's family. That is kindergarten ****.

I like him. But another round of portal announcements will come in the next few days. One would think if he's wanting to haul it'll happen soon.

It’s truth. I don’t expect him to transfer; I’m not at all saying his family is pleased with what happened but I don’t think he’s going anywhere for the coming year, and yes it is true that it was for the Wade family’s appeasement.

You can't be serious with this sentence? In no universe did he come remotely close to playing better than Rattler in that game?

In fact, he looked nearly as overwhelmed as Wade was in ht USC game. Sheron didn't throw 2 picks like Wade....but he was awful until last meaningless drives down multiple scores in USC game.

This makes perfect sense.

And the coaching staff PROVED to the Wade parents that their son is NOT ready for this level of football YET. So allowing him to play the ENTIRE game actually HELPED Sheron.

With Wade's brother projected to start next season, Coach Stoops couldn't let the parents get upset and allow them to transfer.

So Coach Stoops actually accomplished some things, at the team's expense, by doing this yesterday. If Sheron was OK with it, it says A LOT about that kid's character!!! I admire him EVEN MORE for his attitude and he has a bright future!!!

Great to hear he's not upset about it. Look forward to seeing Sheron and the others develop further.

100% serious. Wade didn’t get a reverse call with no blocking on first down and then turn hand the ball off all game game plan. Give sheron those throws sitting down in front of him and he makes the throws - every deep ball Wade threw was overthrown and the slant that got taken for a pick six was 2 yards behind the receiver

Kaiya threw for 178 and 2 TDs without having favorable play calling - Rattler threw for 177 and both threw a pick.

You must not have watched the same game and you certainly don’t know football if you think that he didn’t outplay that kid.

Sheron had less than 100 yards passing before last drive down multiple scores....USC didn't even give a rip and he padded stats. He had the 3 quarters and UK mustered up 6 pts and he was a mess. Scared out of his mind in pocket, throwin in dirt, etc...

I was at that game....Sheron was a mess in a stage he had a good shot to take the reigns of program for next year. I'd argue that game was a huge reason why UK was all about portal QB in 2023. SHeron has been in offense for 2 years now....he gave no impression he's a QB1 in SEC.

All that said....Sheron should have gotten a fairer shake in Iowa game. I was fine giving Wade some drives...but no reason Sheron dind't get drives after Wade's 2 bad pick 6. After half would have been more than reasonable to play Sheron.

You could be right but...

1. Sheron had a shot at QB and UK was more than happy to get after Leary and if Sheron didn't like it...UK didn't seem to worry about hsi feelings
2. Sheron has no Beau Allen to contend with...he should be more than able to be QB2 next year....we'll see how it pans out. Also, Leary is a guy that has been very injury prone...so he might need to be ready next year.
3. Stoops all but said, Leary is 1 year guy and we have belief in our QB room. So Sheron should get his shot if he can ball eventually.

He isn’t an SEC QB. If the family is spewing that info on Wade Sheron needs to pack his bags. That is little league crybaby parent crap. He had his shot against SC and how did that go?

Handcuffed against SC, the play calling was absolutely terrible. They called a game not to lose. The family isn’t spewing anything; after watching Wade (who is a great athlete and I’m sure great kid) it’s pretty obvious who the better qb is.

Facts, they didn’t open it up and really let him throw until the 4th quarter.

Yep Sheron played at home against SC. Wade played at a neutral site against one of the best defenses in the country. Not being critical but neither will ever take significant snaps at QB at KY. I am sure both are great kids but not QBs we will win the games we need to win with.

Correct. We can't lose Keaten because he's a promising LB and we're pretty thin on edge rushers.
And it kills 2 birds with one stone by showing the Wade's parents that the kid needs to work on his game to compete in Bigtime college football. So Coach Stoops starts the kid in his HOMETOWN and sticks with him even to the point of LOSING the game to help him in the long run.

Today's game should make the Wade's and their parents Wildcats FOR LIFE!!!
Not just the parents. We HAVE to keep that Nashville pipeline open .

Anybody ever think the kid is happy and knows his role . I mean at some point its a pretty sweet gig ride it out . I mean up until transfer portal kids did it all the time . Maybe he wants his degree paid for and graduate school paid for and a good job coming out of college debt free. Just a thought lol.
Even if all that’s true, no way he’s happy not playing though, players want to play, he still should’ve started the second half and got a chance to make a comeback to win. He would’ve won the SC game had they let him just play his game. Can’t call one yard passes and hand the ball off every play. He’s got some upside and was worth getting a shot against Iowa.

Having watched Sheron against SC and Wade against Iowa Sheron seemed to be the more intense and confident looking QB. I would have liked seeing him the second half against Iowa. Seems to have more juice in the way he plays. JMO of course. One game for each not a lot to judge but if had to pick one Sheron looks like he could develop into a good QB sooner than Wade.

His ‘role’ all year was backup quarterback. Why did he not play his role Saturday? Wade was a DISASTER!

Sheron vs South Carolina 187 yards passing with 2 TDs and one pick late in desperation time.RTG 128.Wade 97 yards passing , 2 pick sixes and RTG of 67 ,QB rating of 13.Stoops didnt throw Sheron under the bus, he threw him off of it.
So you’re saying that Iowa’s and S.Carolina’s defenses were equivalent? So 3 = 91???
