I always thought Mono took a long long time to recover from. Hope he is not rushing backk into action.

Looked fine Saturday night but a little rusty and looked a bit tired in second half. Doubt it they would risk his health, if the doctors didn't give him a ok. It's been about a month since diagnosed, so his recovery seems on schedule.

Coach did say he felt he overplayed him in the first half. Having been kept out of practices and exercise regimen is likely a greater issue at this point than his medical condition. I am fine with him being used sparingly at this point.

He was visibly tired in the second half on Saturday and he looks like he's lost a bit of weight during his recovery.

It usually only takes a few weeks to be medically cleared to play (spleen etc.). The problem is that the associated fatigue can last for months. I'm sure he'll be able to give us some quality minutes, but I wouldn't expect him to give us 30-35 quality minutes until next season. I'm certainly hoping to be proven wrong, though.

If you listen to his interview today on NU Sports, he said he never really felt bad, and didn't lose weight. He said that concerns about the spleen prevented him doing anything, but he wasn't tired or weak. He said his lift in his legs was off, and his timing from not playing for 2 weeks was off, but it wasn't like he was bed-ridden.

I certainly hope he's right about all that and he'll soon be back to being the player we saw before the illness.

Just speaking from my experience with mono as an unathletic high school kid, this sounds about right. Never got the whole "tired all the time" thing that's the stereotype, just had the worst sore throat of my life. Felt 100% fine within about 48 hours of starting treatment, but they held me out of gym class for a month to make sure my spleen didn't explode. I would guess that he is totally fine aside from being out of shape from not being able to exercise at all for a few weeks.
