Is SGA UKs version of Michael Jordan?

Claiming Lebron lacks “work ethic” is just plain stupid.

The dude is known for being absolutely fanatical about his fitness, nutrition and training routines. Always keeps himself in perfect shape, even in the off season. And has missed remarkably few games for someone his age with more mileage on his legs than any player in history.

How is he not working hard enough?
Saying he doesn’t take plays, quarters, and games off is just plain stupid. Also, while we are at it, I was comparing him to Jordan and his work
ethic (at least in my head I was). I do think LeBron gets lazy, but I standby my statement his work ethic and apparently His killer instinct is no comparison to Jordan.

Jordan is easily the greatest player of all time and he did it consistently throughout his careeer. Really there is no one remotely close to his skill level, work ethic, and athleticism. That’s why I don’t care for LeBron, he has all the skill in the world but doesn’t have the work ethic that Jordan did. Congrats to SGA but comparing him to Jordan is ridiculous.
Im a huge Bulls fan going back to the 80s. Even I got to admit if there was an All time NBA draft where tesms could choose any player right out of college age .. . .MJ may be the best player ever but he gets picked 3rd after Wilt and Kareem. I guess a xhsnce he goes before Kareem but noone chooses him over Wilt IMO.

I have seen some Wilt but I never got to “watch” his games enough to compare him closely to Jordan.

That’s really neat, but you’re delusional if you think Jordan didn’t constantly whine to refs too.
You’re delusional if you’re implying that he EVER whined as much or the way LeBitch does. Ever see MJ flop? Writhe on the floor faking an injury like a South American soccer player? Me neither.

I'd take a prime Wilt over Jordan. As far as work ethic Wilt averaged over 48 minutes per game for an NBA season.

But he never even made a final four here. I guess if all you care about is numbers for an individual it's him. I thought it was about final fours and national titles here?
It can be about what ever you want.

Dan Issel is the gold standard of UK basketball.

I’ve never seen it no. That’s why mj is the goat.

As for the thread. Yes I do believe Shai will be the best UK player of all time when he retires. Period.

Wake me up when he’s wearing 6 rings, top 5
AT in points, a few more MVP’s… Shall I continue?😂
he’s not jordan, but it doesn’t seem any team can keep him below 30. that’s jordan-esque. i bet sga’s exact stat line tonight, 13-30 fg’s 11-13 ft’s, was had by jordan at least 10 times.

The greatness of UK has never been centered on a single-great player. UNC had Jordan. Kansas had Wilt. UCLA had Kareem.

And yet Kentucky has never had an all-time top 20 NBA guy, and yet we've produced the most NBA players of all time, the most NBA All-Stars (not appearances, but single players chosen), and the most NBA draft picks.

It's who we are. It's a shared identity that includes five (soon-to-be-six) different head coaches who have won titles here; it's a shared essence that spans through every decade in college basketball history.

The fact that we've been able to be this great without a Jordan or a Kareem is incredible.

Sorry guys but last night while talking to my son I realized we have a MJ level guy play at UK and make it to the finals at UK. It’s not his play that made him the greatest it’s his ability to put together winning teams and win win win. That dude is coach/gm pat Riley.

I’ve always found the hate of LeBron kind of funny. Considering the pressure he grew up with to be the next Jordan he’s done incredibly well for himself on both a personal and professional level. Never had any big scandal, is really devoted to his craft and is one of the best players of all time, has had incredible longevity like you said, and has been married with a nice family for a while now. He’s kind of in his cheese ball phase as a dad and it’s pretty funny at times.

He’s pretty much the model of what you’d want a successful athlete to be.
Exactly. and LeBron is putting NBA records up to a place that no one else will ever touch.
He’s the GOAT.

I wouldn’t say AD has slid at all, he is still playing at an elite level he’s just never gotten over the MVP hump. He’s never gotten the respect he deserves IMO. He was the reason the Lakers won the title in the bubble. Absolutely the best defender and averaged like 28/12/3. Now that the Mavs are getting Cooper Flagg if they resign Kyrie and their roster stays healthy they will be a contender again.
He is gimpy to out a lot, that probably caps the perception.

There is ZERO defense in his version of the NBA. He would’ve not fared as well back when walks were called and defense was played. Do you not think his antics, flop, histrionics and blatant racism

Is he UK’s Jordan?! Maybe. Is he comparable to Jordan?! Absolutely not. Jordan is the GOAT. I’ll never be convinced that Lebron or Kobe was as good. They aren’t/weren’t. Jordan was scoring champ damn near every season, while being first team all defense! That’s an incredible stat. If he had never left to play baseball, he wins 8 consecutive titles. I truly believe that.

The only reason I ask is because UNC isn’t what they are without Jordan’s legacy.
It’s apparent you don’t follow college basketball.

If your point is that Jordan was the best player to come out of UNC, then fine. But they had a legacy prior to him.

UNC lost in 2 Finals in the 6 years preceding Jordan, including the year before he came in. They had a legacy before him, when the tournament was more limited on who got in.

Phrase your question better.
