Is Stoops a liar?

Stoops is in panic mode because he knows that the fans are finished, which is the #1 reason coaches are fired at places where football is counted on to pay for all other sports. He's saying anything to attempt to get fans to show up, plus he's trying to be positive with a team he knows he's lost. The problem is that the fans and team have both tuned him out. He's finished. Whether it's this year or Mitch makes us all endure a 5th Stoops year as miserable as Joker's 3rd is the only question.

Lol!! I just saw one of the vid links on UKathletics that says "UK developing front seven depth before Florida"! Really??? Shouldn't they have been doing that in spring and summer camps? Gawd! The crap that comes out of these coaches mouths is, frankly offensive in that they think we're that stoopid!

Well with Meant leaving, this may be one of the few things said that was true.

I don't think football pays the bills at UK. I would wager basketball brings in more revenue. March madness, SEC tourney and all.

This is so true. Stoops is just grasping at straws trying to hold on. Sort of like that thing where you tell one lie and then you have to tell another one to cover the first one. And so on and so on. He's finished, just a matter of how long it takes to go through the motions of getting rid of him. This is a common theme when it comes to UK football.

I think it would of benefited everyone more if he had just told the truth all preseason. "well they look like sh*t, they smell like sh*t and and they play like their slipping in sh*t..."

I've thought about this too. I think I'd be much less pissed off if he just came right out and was honest about how the team looked. I'm just tired of hearing how great every practice is and then seeing the same pile of **** take the field every Saturday.

Yes! Finally! An intelligent post. You're right, basketball carries the load for everything at UK. In fact, football takes basketball's money! We would be better off dropping football. The only SEC team that doesn't have a football program. Great idea! I'm sure the other conference teams won't mind, and will be glad to share conference money equally because of our awesome basketball team...

I guess when your offense and defense are equally as bad it probably looks ok, so he did not lie in that respect. :grimace:

Sorry, revenue from TV contract for football carries most every school. Yes, we are better in basketball, but we don't make more money at it

It's been shown in posts on this and other sites, that football generates more income for UK's athletic department than basketball ! It continually amazes me at the ignorance of UK fans on how the teams at UK are financed. Basketball is more successful but UK convinces the long suffering UK football fan, that every year will be different ,more sucessful , and we take the bait and buy more tickets, until now! UK is at a dead end with the football fans, because they're tired, humiliated, emotionally spent, and have now been reduced to apathy by the crap show they've endured for 60 years. It appears that the future is bleak for attendance at CWS both this year and the future seasons. Ashame, because there are no more loyal, dedicated, supportive fans than UK football fans but there is a limit to ones patience! Sad!

No don't think he's liar... Just think that when his players practice against each other and his coaches coach against one another.... The results they see and opinions rendered from the effort aren't real world...

Why would Stoops be panicking? Barnhart the clown has guaranteed him 12 million dollars no matter what he does on the field. Seriously, Barnhart should be fired for that moronic decision alone. But apparently, the UK president loves Barnhart so he isn't going anywhere. Which means Stoops isn't going anywhere. It's a total cluster.

I think what happens in practice reports is guys who aren't playing up to legit SEC standards practice against each other and you make assumptions that come game day are not a picture of reality.

-Kobie Walker practicing against our tackles...neither is up to snuff
-UK OL vs. UK DL..(UK DL can't generate a pass rush to save their life)
-Mike Edwards practicing vs.our deep passing threats

But as we've seen in 2 weeks...UK safeties are easily confused/out of place, UK tackles aren't that good, Barker can be rattled, UK LBers are poor (save Jordan Jones), etc...

Don't know that I'd call him a liar .... but I did see his pants on fire.
BTW, this is two years in a row that he's apparently lost the locker room. Once is usually too many for a coach.

Incorrect. Look at the UK Athletics balance sheets each year. Football generates more money.

I still want to see us become the only SEC school to not field a football team and see how that works out... In a de facto kind of way, we are already there...

Coach speak is not considered lying; it is more about talking without really saying anything and frequently using the word "better". [winking]

Peace
