Is the OL hire as important as the OC hire?

Games are won or lost up front (just ask Alabama). So, yes. Arguably, it's more important.

Of course, it's like asking which ingredient is more important when baking a cake. They're all essential.

FYI:
Shawn became our OL coach when Wolfie left for YSU and we signed Marcus Lattimore ('10).

Shawn was our OL coach when Marcus played & when we won 33 games in 3 seasons. Our red zone running game was legit.

Wolfie came back here under Will Muschamp & we did poorly. He eventually coached for Saban, at UK this past season, & was just hired at LSU by Kiffen.
How did Wolfie's OL look this past season? We sacked their QB 6 times. Why would Kiffen even consider Wolfie?

There is no evidence that even with Wolfie, we'd do any better than using Shawn.

I would not be disappointed if we retained Shawn as our OL coach.

Looks like Briles is bringing one of his guys as O Line coach, Clements. He should know exactly what Briles wants to do. I like the consistency this should bring to our offensive philosophy.
