Is the school organizing anything for selection Sunday?

I know some schools do absolutely nothing. Others may have the team and people close to the program watch in, say, something like the football meeting room (just because of the size). Yet I remember other schools organizing a bigger event in their arena bleachers with the team down front and the show up on the video board and fans cheering when the team is announced (and occasionally crying when it is not).

Obviously we can't use the arena now that it is being torn down but maybe somewhere else on campus? How about the food court area Norris? Sure it wouldn't be an arena like setting but with the team at one set of tables and fans (and tv's) all around that could be fun.

I suppose you could do it at one of the huge sports bars in downtown Chicago, but I really think this should be more campus oriented, though being "Chicago's Big Ten team" maybe downtown works too. I'm sure it would get some good publicity.

My apologies if this has already been announced and talked about and I just missed it.

They will probably just let a few cameras into the locker room after the game on Sunday

I know most reports state that old W-R is already being torn down they just did practice there before leaving for DC. So where will the practice during their run in the NCAA's? If they play on Sunday, great and a gathering in the locker room seems appropriate but if they don't make it to the final, will they be home? Where will the announcement celebration be held?

I'm suggesting that every club around the country treat Sunday like a football watch party. This is history and should be treated that way. I've suggested it here in the Bay Area and to friends in Los Angeles.

Phillips is making an announcement on WGN tomorrow morning...I suspect this will be the announcement. I hope they have a big event with fans, band, etc.

I doubt they have had the time to do it but it would be nice if they could get a call out to any NUMB Alumns who still live in the area who could throw together an improvised pep band for the festivities with our signature songs. And cheerleader grads too. Some of whom may be long in tooth but who could at least lead the basic cheers like one side of the arena shouting Go U and the other responding NU and other stuff like that.

But JP is a solid AD maybe he will have arranged some of that.

I did not realize that the watch party would also include the Big Ten Championship game. Do you realize how exciting that could be? Now I REALLY want to win today (as if I didn't before, lol, but you get what I mean).

I don't want to see any cheerleader grads. That could get really gross and weird in a hurry.
