Is there bad news coming?

I heard Matt; and frankly, as the entire situation was in flux as he spoke, the remarks were untimely and uncalled for

I think most of us agree that things worked out beautifully

In fact, I am so enthused that I am seriously considering buying season tickets for Kentucky football next year; and anybody that has followed me on here knows that is a HUGE buy-in to what Mitch and Coach Stoops are doing
First of all.... I agree with you on the MJ remarks... When it comes to UK football/negativity/&radio... that's a low hanging fruit type topic.
I'm sure you'll be most welcome over at the Athletics Department... New blood is much needed and I suspect seat selection will present opportunity for great views....

Spin? LOL! Those are indisputable facts, and I could name more. But you obviously have a chip in your shoulder and don't know what you are talking about, so why bother?
chip 'in' shoulder?? no, when you try to tout the recent money that had to be spent by the school as some sort of commitment to football rather than recognize it as panic response to rapid fan abandonment...that's spin. FB was neglected for far too long. this neglect caused the early departure of a decent coach and squandered what momentum he'd accomplished. Only when the dollars started walking out the door did things start to get done. If there was a real commitment, then why are we still on the bottom of assis coaches pay in the conference? on the bottom of player stipend? no, the Facts point to more of same, doing just enought to get the turnstiles going in the right direction. nothing more.

There, there Peter...having a bad day? You were so sure UK would screw up the Gran/Hinshaw hires you already had your gigs prepared. Now that UK didn't, all you have left is some lame Dawson crap. The Dawson Era is over. Maybe you need a hug, you and Pitino should pair off Peter. Tough days for both of you.
For him, every day that ends in "y" is a bad day. His role, evidently, is to grouse and complain, unceasingly. There is no news which can't in some way be interpreted in a negative light, nothing good that happens that can't be minimized or explained away, nothing bad that can't be emphasized. He and Shaver serve one purpose - to ***** and moan.

Until we get the players there won't be any degree of success for either side of the ball and special teams. It will be amazing to see how much better the coaching will look when the players are in place.
No question, better players make coaches look better. I would debate anyone who thinks we don't already have good players. But it's true that our defensive front 7 will be very young, and our offensive line must still prove itself. As Barker also must.

Head Coach Of Offense, Passing Game Coordinator ect: Try not to read to much into this. It's a title and in some cases it allows you to bring in another coach with a glorified title so his salary can be justified. It's really much todo about nothing. IMO.

LOL! It is better to be quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. If you actually knew accurate answers to the questions you yourself are posing here, your conclusions would have to be different. I am not any happier about our 2015 season than you are. In fact, it's possible that I might be less optimistic about 2016. But if you are blaming this on lack of support from our athletic department, then you are just cherry picking some things while ignoring the preponderance of facts to suit your grudge. There is nothing entertaining about debating someone who is sure he knows the history but actually has it wrong.

Well, my views aren't due to me liking Stoops. As a coach myself I have seen this a few times. Most of the time, it is the assistant coach that is putting things into the heads of the players when they feel like can't be the lead guy. Your job as an assistant is to perform tasks based upon the direction of the head coach. I don't care if you agree with that direction or not. So, if Stoops told him that he wanted to emphasize one thing over another and Dawson didn't like it, tough crap. His job is to ASSIST, not be the head coach.

Dawson apparently had issues with that and decided to pout and cause team divide. That is what selfish people do and is the single worst thing that can take down a team.
Nail on the head coach. Exactly what I felt was happening. Whether Dawson was right or not about whatever they disagreed on , we'll never know. But clearly Towles and some other agreed with what Dawson wanted to do, and others on the offense simply did not. Ultimately it's Stoops decision so either get on board or get out of the way.

For BBD & S48.... I think the both of you are closer in opinion than you are apart.... It's the details you argue over... If one takes the last 50 years of football at UK one can make assumptions... On-the-other-hand, #1 Building of CWS in 73, #2 CM Newton project, #3 Mark Stoops/Barney project.... which is the largest to date... that and other milestones, can all be used to make other assumptions....

All I know is what I see .... and last year what I saw was plenty of talent on the field... There was enough talent for us to perform better than what we did and ultimately get over the six game hump... It wasn't just an offense problem OMHO.... It's easier to see the failure of talent on that side of the ball than on defense... So that's where the arrows fly.....
As far as "titles"... Some put more attention in the title Gran has been awarded than others... I find it significant but it's just my opinion and there isn't much in the way of facts that makes me feel this way....
SMU game.... Pencil that one one in.... That's gonna be a game to have a ticket..... The Board...one way or the other should be a bee hive after that one:)

Stoops did not limit Brown. There is no evidence of that at all. Just something that someone made up on this board.

And no, the OC should say anything to players. Of he has an issue then that is something he and the head guy need to discuss privately. But at the end of the day, he needs adjust to the direction of the head coach. If he doesn't, that causes divide.

And the offense was bad before the halfway point. So, that doesn't really fit the argument that it got bad when Stoops stepped in. It was bad because Dawson refused to follow the direction of the head coach. Hence, the reason he is fired.

I'll respectfully disagree with you. You think Dawson only wanted to run 45 offensive plays against Georgia? Do you think that was Dawson's call?

I think when you ran 80 to 85 plays per game a year earlier, you may actually expect to run a similar quantity the following year.

But you simply had a head coach that would rather get beat 35 to 0 than 70 to 35.

Earlier in the year we were putting up some numbers and then something happened. Only one team passed for more yardage against Auburn than we did and that was Ole Miss. We also ran 77 plays against Auburn.

Passing Yards Against Auburn
Louisville 167
Jacksonville State 277
LSU 74
Texas A&M 137
Georgia 97
Mississippi State 274
San Jose State 224
Kentucky 359
Arkansas 244
Miss State 402
Idaho 163
Alabama 170
Memphis 151

IMO something happened and it wasn't just X's and O's.

I think the answer is pretty simple. In those games we were getting first downs which leads to more plays. In the other games, we couldn't move the ball at all, which means we ran less plays.

Once we stopped being productive, Stoops stepped in (like he did with defense) and Dawson couldn't handle it. So he cause issues.

i have nothing but evidence on my side. should we have a winning record in conference with the current regime I will be proven wrong and no one will be happier than me. won't hold my breath.

I think it's safe to say that we have more talent on the field. And even if it's young we still have no quality depth at most positions. Which means any injuries or the missing of any playing time of players due to breaking rules or what not kills us.
