IHSA website has Brother Rice's classification enrollment at 2722.50 and Mt Carmel at 2204.40. Is the .50 and .40 some multiplier thing or are there really 1/2 students roaming the halls of these schools??

IHSA tries to keep it fair by counting students at private schools that operate without hard boundaries as being more special than students at public schools that endure the harsh realities that they can't recruit kids to come to their school. You are about to see a sh*#storm of comments about what a whiner I am and how harsh the IHSA rules are regarding this multiplier, but remember that every one of those nasty guys has attended, or currently sends their mutant spawn to said private schools. SF (sarcastic font)

The multiplier take the enrollment at an unboundaried school and multiplies that number by 1.65 to come up with an enrollment figure to match against public school actual figures.

I believe that schools that are all one sex are doubled in enrollment before any multiplier is applied

I was just going by the note listed on IHSA below. I didn't realize there was a further multiplier. (ouch)

The figure listed under "Enrollment" is the school's enrollment on September 30, 2014, as reported to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), and adjusted by the IHSA according to policy. The figure in the last column, which includes the 1.65 multiplier, is applied to individual sport and activity programs at particular non-boundaried schools, depending on each program's recent success in IHSA state series

I just wanted to find out what the actual rule was; IE the 1.65 multiplier...I didn't mean to start a malstrom. I apoligize.

Privates thumb your collective noses at the IHSA and depart. Let the perpetual public whiners play
among themselves. That will finally shut them up !

Am I to understand public schools only have student athletes within their district boundaries?
