Is UK in touch with Michigan RB transfer Derrick Green?

No clue if we are in touch with him, but I doubt it. He will probably go the MAC school route or a team that needs a starting HB.

I was browsing the Bama boards earlier looking for Ansley news and I saw they are in the mix for a graduate transfer RB. I didn't get the name because it was premium info but I wouldn't doubt if it's not Green.

I follow UM, so I feel I have some input. He's a former 5* that has acted entitled. He really hasn't applied himself as much as others and therefore has been passed up.

If Stoops brings him on board I'll support him. But I don't feel he's an upgrade to what we have.

Good. I hope he never sees the field
he had a much better opportunity with Al. I would have loved to see him in Ky blue. he gave UK the opportunity but he has something now he would never have had if he signed with UK. A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RING!! If we didn't get basketball recruits from anywhere but KY, what kind of basketball program would we have? Your like one of the piss poor Ak fans that cursed Monk for picking UK. We don't need fans like that!!!

From the link looks like he was offered by nine SEC schools, including Vandy but not UK, and a majority of teams in the BIG and ACC.

Once again, you have no idea that this is not about choosing another school. This has everything to do with lying and telling UK to not recruit other backs after he made a decision to go to Alabama. That and his smartalec little quips about UK since, and I feel perfectly justified in hoping he fails at everything.

This^^^ love when people defend Harris choice to go to Bama and compare it to 5 star basketball players spurning the hometown school to come to UK.

Let me say this slowly so those trumping that message can comprehend....HARD FEELINGS TOWARDS HARRIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH JLHIM CHOOSING BAMA! It was because he screwed his home school by not being honest about knowing where he was going 2 months before signing day and refuting anyone who said he did know. He was still tweeting pro UK cap for months after he said he knew. He lead Stoops and UK on to try and win Mr Football and to continue to stroke his ego. It showed total lack of awareness of anything beyond himself and lack of character.
As far as the ring thing...he had as much to do with that championship as he did the national budget. It would be poetic justice and a big piece of humble pie if he road the bench at Bama.

No clue why Bama would want him, from everything I have read from Michigan fans they all call him a bust and have been for awhile. Not just because he is leaving the program, but from a few years back. He's had season ending shoulder surgery and has a weight problem from everything I have read. I think he will end up going the non-Power 5 route, unless a school needs a starting back this season.

Re: Cole. I couldn't tell you if he is bad, good or great. I know he was highly touted. Probably a good pickup. Heard rumors he didn't get along well with Harbaugh and other rumors I won't mention.

In regards to Green...I can only tell you what I saw. He is a mediocre runner. If he was recruited again...he would be a middle of the road 3 star. In fact when he was recruited people couldn't quite figure out why he was a 5 star. Recruiting guru's aren't quite as infallible as they like to claim.

I don't Green is awful but wouldn't be too concerned if he doesn't attend UK. He isn't physical and is easily tackled. If you give him a good size hole then he has some good acceleration but a meh player. Trust us.

Bottom line...Cole is probably worth it.

Former #1 RB recruit Derrick Green is also leaving Michigan as a graduate transfer who will be immediately eligible. It does not hurt to have a connection with Brian Cole and a new offensive coordinator who works primarily with running backs.

He was a disappointment to Mi. Showed up overweight & slow and never was in the mix his last two yrs, effort was suppose to be lacking. Hope he shines at UK.

Agree, Cole has more to offer than Green. Kid couldn't stay out of JH dog house. Other players liked him and speak highly of his talent, esp as a safety.

You actually made me laugh out loud with that one. Well played.

Still, he's a kid that handled things poorly. I hope he's wildly successful, except when he plays us, and then I hope he fumbles five or six times.

Well..... Never mind. My laughing emojis won't show up. Ha ha

Thanks for this feedback Candid. i'm actually very encouraged to hear of the others players positive feelings towards him and their perception of his talent. Actually that is much more important to me in this case then being able to get along with a guy like Harbaugh. He can clearly coach...but he will most definitely be an acquired taste that some just won't co exist with well whether that player is a high character guy or a low character guy.

you have no idea that he lied unless you heard him promise MS that he was coming to UK. Matt Jones reported after interviewing him on the radio that UA was the team to beat when he interviewed him several weeks before he announced for Al. The way he was attacked after he announced gave him reason to make statements about UK. You are attacking him now and that makes you a very small man in my book. I love UK!!

The story is very well documented. If you want to slobber up and down to take up for him, that's up to you. Maybe that makes me a small man in your book, but I don't choose willful ignorance when I feel there is plenty evidence out there to support the assertion the kid misled the staff and fanbase. All indications are he is a douche

You want me to scavenge the Internet for you while you eat a corn dog during your break at the docks where you work? No, thanks... It's been said everywhere.... All over, and is general consensus among most everyone. I'm not going to go find you the links

In fact, below you will find a comprehensive list of everything I or anyone else owes you and what you are entitled to....

Second link in the OP strongly suggests this 5* prospect was simply not a 5* player. That happens more often than we think. Other 2013 5* RBs...

Thomas Tyner (OR): 711 yds on 115 carries (#2 on team) in 2013; 573 yds on 113 (#3 on team) in 2014; retires due to injury 2015
Greg Bryant (ND): 14 yds on 3 carries in 2013; 289 yds on 54 carries in 2014; sits out 2015 after transfer to UAB...now what???
Ty Issac: 236 yds on 40 carries in 2013 (5th on team); sits out 2014 after transfer to MI; 205 yds on 30 carries in 2015 (#3 on team)

Peace

^ agree 100%. Saw Michigan play in person several times over the last few seasons, and was never impressed with Green. Would be another Braylon Heard type here, he would get some PT, but would by no means be a savior or anything of the sort.

.....[/QUOTE} ate least I have a break to go on. but I don't eat corn dogs on break, I eat twinkies. don't have time to heat corn dogs up and eat them too!!... the point i'm making is that you are wishing bad luck on a Ky kid that had an opportunity to attend the best program in college football and you show your intelligence because some internet poster made a statement about the kid. and then you personally attack me and don't have a clue as to my personal life. just another clue as to what type person you really are.

Heard was plagued with a high ankle sprain that he suffered in the 3rd game that he played in and was never able to shake it the rest of the season. He was going to be very very good had he been healthy. He had a kid and had to leave before his senior year to support his family

Source? I'm not disagreeing. I don't know much about him, and I am curious.

Probably the best of sources, internet rumors. Although that wouldn't be that surprising, is UL considering him? If he doesn't work out they can always send him to Union College.
