Is VT still interested in Shane?

I propose they were never interested to begin with.
They can't possibly be after last night! He has no experience coaching the offense or the defense, and makes poor hiring decisions.
Yes, hired because of his last name and because he had been here before. Neither are good reasons to hire a head coach.
I remember that year on The Insiders for $1 some guy, I think it was Washington Cock, who said Shane blew Miller and Tanner away during the interview. Only he forgot to type the word "away" in his post. I remember thinking that answers every question i had about the Beamer hire.
Beamer is personable. I'll give him that credit. But he is not Head Football Coach material. Hollywood has a term for actors/actresses who get roles because their parent(s) were great actors: "Nepobabies".
Last year, Sellers athleticism bailed out the offensive line numerous times. Defenses now have enough film on him to know what to do.
Missouri came into the game averaging making 2 sacks per game for a total of 6. They nearly tripled that amount last night by sacking Sellers 5 times. In Teasley's first game as OL coach against North Carolina 2 years ago, the Tar Heels got 3 sacks (Which is not good OL play).
I know that a lot of people want to run off Shula. I'm not defending him. I don't care who the OC is. He won't do well with such an "offensive" offense line. We are fooling ourselves to think differently. That's not Shula's fault. It's Nepobaby Beamer's fault. Urban Meyer says the 2 most important hires are Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. I think that Urban Meyer knows a thing or two about winning football.
I wish that VT would hire Beamer. But I don't think that will happen. If I was Shane, I would ask the "Ole Man" to pitch him hard to the VT hiring authorities. Why? Because I don't believe our new AD Donati will put up with such incompetence for long. Donati fired Gary Patterson at TCU. Patterson produced 7 Top !0 teams plus other nationally-ranked teams at TCU during his time there. That is a lot more "goodwill" than Beamer has here. Donati is no dummy. He has a law degree. If I was Beamer, I'd be lobbying Dad hard.

Beamer isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The idiotic raises and extensions thrown at him after '22 and last season insured that no one is going to hire him away and Carolina can't afford to fire him. Beamer isn't going to quit to go to VT and take a pay cut.
Get used to underperforming for at least two more years. Beamer is likeable and enthusiastic (to the point of looking foolish) but he isn't a legit SEC head coach.
Oh, I agree with you. I believe 2027 will be "do or die" for Beamer. Of course, we don't know if "big money" people will throw in money to buy him out prior to that.

Isn't it absolutley amazing that the winningest coach in his first 3 years (muschamp) and the winningest coach in his first 4 years (beamer) just happened to be our only two coaches who's careers include the 12 game schedule every year?

It is also worth noting that the additional game has always been another cupcake. We haven't been adding a game against Ohio State or Oregon.

When he was hired, the idea was to copy the mold of Dabo. To Dabo's credit he kep his own salary low, much longer much longer than shane. He took 2 mill for a while while he got his sea legs. Shane was bumped up rather quickly maybe a little too quickly. I think if we could have kept Dowel Loggins we would be having a better season.
Perhaps. Loggains still would have to find a run game after the Rocket loss.
IMO, the bowl game was an indicator of what was to come unless they found a viable replacement.
That clearly hasn't happened as of yet.
