That's awesome for him. The world is too full of hate, pain, and torment for anyone to have issues with what makes anyone else happy and feel complete. As long as that is among consenting adults and does not infringe on the safety of others, these feelings should be championed.

Congratulations to him and to everyone supporting a healthy, accepting environment. Suicide has hit closely in my family. I'm glad he has tackled his demons.

Yes! Suicide has hit about as close to me as possible. Demons can control your life. Especially if it’s not socially acceptable. Puts friends and families in tough situation. Kudos to Issac.

Personally I never got why people felt the need to announce their sexuality. Unless you’re a freak, most of our sexcapades take place in private. I’m not knocking him, it’s the world we live in. I guess since I’m heterosexual then there is no need for me to announce anything. Honestly, the fact that people who come out as gay feel they need to “out” themselves is a sad indictment of our society. I like Issac, he is a great ball player and he is also a very talented musician. Sad that he had thoughts of suicide. Glad he got help for that.

I also never got the hate. Even on this thread, some people made comments that showed how ignorant and insecure they are with life. If you live your life using the Golden Rule and the Live and Let Live mantra, I guarantee you that you will lead a full, happy, content life.

We’ve all seen what hate can do to the world. We’ve also seen some amazing displays of love and goodwill, just this week with the passing of Mike Leach. There’s a movement that’s been around for a couple of years now. It was started by two ladies working out of one of their garages. I’m sure you have seen their signs. It’s a very simple message: BE KIND

Peace

Very happy for Hump. Whenever I see him mentioned, it makes me remember that nice game he had against UNCheats and how much he would have helped us the following year if he came back. He could've been a really nice addition to that team.

I just don’t wanna get accused of anything when I say “he had one or two decent nights and we never saw him again”.

Well, I think the default in societies around the world is a "default" to male/female attraction and relationships.

As we all know, when someone has a feature or a tenant of who they are, what they look like, etc. that deviate from what is "normal" are subject to quite a bit of verbal and societal alienation and judgement. Most stay in their own shell because of this.

However, for those who have this deviation it can be empowering to own this feature. It can help solve a lot of stress and anxiety.

That is the purpose of these announcements. It is selfish, but necessary for a path to inner peace. And it is incredibly hard to do.

I think the issue with being "out" is that he felt the need to hide it for "some" reason. that's the issue with society. I would rather we live in a world where people don't have to "come out". But he obviously felt some kind of pressure to hide it. And that led to him being suicidal.

i pray he finds happiness and success. HOpefully this helps.

This is a sports forum, who cares about his preference. I’m sick of hearing about it.
Guy watched a video about a guy who said he had attempted to commit suicide because of his sexuality and he replied with “I’m sick of hearing it”. Same attitude is why some people successfully attempted suicide. Moral of my comment? Don’t be a piece of ****.

I just wanted to come out and tell everyone of the difficulties I've had in life, the struggles the hard decisions and wanted to announce and let you guys know I'm a heterosexual.

now you can heap your praise on me and give me special privileges and attention because I deserve it. If anyone doesn't care about my decision you need to attack them like Satan would himself.
I think the point of his struggle was that he denialed his sexual preference to the point of becoming suicidal. Men talking about depression or their feelings shouldn't be taboo. Would you have rather seen his obituary? Man, people confuse the hell out of me with their negativity.

When people are dealing with stuff like that, they often feel alone. He is 'announcing' this to try and reach people that are in a similar position and still struggling. If you don't get anything from it, fine, he didn't do it for you and you can just ignore it.

I guess it depends on if you read the Bible or not yourself or just depend on what someone else is telling you on what to believe.
This is gonna turn into an argument about what the Good Book says about the homers ain’t it.
