Muslims in the UK top 3 million, some parts of London almost 50% Muslim

In five or ten more years, when there are majority-Muslim areas in Britain, do you think there will be beautiful multicultural harmony? Or do you think Muslims will be making increasingly aggressive demands for implementation of Sharia provisions? If you think the latter, you’re a greasy Islamophobe, and the British government hates you. You’re also correct.

“Muslims in UK top 3 million for first time,” The Sun, February 1, 2016:

BRITAIN is home to more than 3 million Muslims for the first time ever with more than half born outside the UK, according to new figures.

Soaring immigration and sky high birth rates have seen the number in the country double in a little over a decade.

Some parts of London are now almost 50 per cent Islamic, according to analysis from the Office for National Statistics.

If current trends continue the areas could become majority Muslim within ten years.

One in four Muslims in England and Wales are under ten years old than in any other age group indicating a very high birth rate within the community.

Followers of Islam now make up one in every 20 people within the country….

Across the country there are now 3,114,992 Muslims with 1,554022 born overseas and they now make up 5.4% of the population of England and Wales.

The number has more than trebled in the last quarter of a century when less than a million were in the country in 1991….

For Canada’s Muslims, a moment for self-reflection
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/opin...a-moment-for-self-reflection/article34239800/

It is perhaps one of the most jarring moments in the “highlight” reel of the rally held at the Canada Christian College after introduction of motion M-103 in Parliament. As the camera spans a boisterous, overwhelmingly Caucasian crowd, a middle-aged, bespectacled woman comes into focus. Grinning, she raises her right arm in what appears to be a lingering Nazi-salute. Four Conservative leadership hopefuls appeared at this event.

The same week, a sombre House of Commons listened to MP Iqra Khalid share samples of hate mail and death threats sent her way for introducing M-103.

Supporters and detractors of M-103 clashed in many Canadian cities this past weekend. Opponents worry about the inability to publicly criticize Islam and sharia, while supporters accuse opponents of underlying anti-Muslim bigotry. Irony hit its peak in Toronto, where M-103 protesters played K’naan’s Wavin’ Flag as a show of patriotism. The rapper suggested an alternate chant: “We want the work, not the force, we want the knowledge, not the source; we want the fruit, not the tree, let’s sing the song! Oh God, don’t tell me it’s by a Somali refugee.”

Elizabeth Renzetti: A motion to quell anti-Muslim hate shouldn’t be up for debate, but here we are

This year is on track to becoming an annus horribilis for Canadian Muslims. The toxic anti-Muslim rhetoric south of the border has spread north, unvetted, through all firewalls.

Following the killing of six worshippers at a Quebec City mosque, Muslims are facing a “Taif” moment. Ten years into his Prophethood, Mohammed visited the town of Taif, after facing increasing hostility in Mecca. The nascent Muslim community had just emerged from a harsh three-year boycott by the Meccans. His wife and closest confidante of 25 years, Khadijah, had died that year, as had his uncle who had provided tribal protection.

Seeking refuge, he entreated the leaders of Taif for protection and an opportunity to share the beauty of faith. Instead, he was literally chased out of town, under an onslaught of rocks and debris. As he rested, bleeding and exhausted, he humbly prayed, acknowledging his weakness and humiliation by the town’s people. Instead of blaming others, he beseeched God: “As long as You are not angry with me, I do not mind,” reaffirming his commitment to faith and humble service. Soon afterwards, he was given the opportunity to punish the people of Taif. He declined, hoping one day that they would embrace the faith.

The Prophet’s magnanimity in the face of hostility was recently exemplified by Imam Hassan Guillet, who delivered the eulogy at the funeral of three of the Quebec City victims, Azzedine Soufiane, Mamadou Tanou Barry and Ibrahima Barry. After paying tribute to the six victims of the massacre, the imam reminded us of the humanity of the alleged killer. He also noted that while six Muslim families were destroyed, so too was the family of the alleged shooter. From the depths of pain emerged recognition of our common humanity.

While Canadian Muslims are not a persecuted minority (as they are in, say, Myanmar), events of the past few weeks should give pause for self-reflection, and an accounting of weaknesses, rather than calls for revenge or blame. The Prophetic example demands it.

It is also the time to reach out to those who exhibit hostility rooted in fear, or as the Koran counsels: “Repel the evil deed with one which is better” – even to those who might salute Nazis. Let us recognize that some of this fear is genuine, due to terror attacks in Europe, the United States and here in Canada. While Canadian Muslims seek protection of their rights, they must also emphasize their love and defence of this nation.

Those who worry about an erosion of “Canadian values” should be engaged in an honest manner, rather than with denunciation. The cultural values surrounding women, critical inquiry, freedom of expression and freedom of conscience in many Muslim countries are often at odds with prevailing Western norms. Canadian Muslims must begin to have meaningful debates on how to reconcile these two world views.

What are the universal tenets of the faith that can be translated from society to society? And what are the cultural norms of the old world that must be replaced with the new? Such deliberations must be made with great care, with recognition that Canada is a diverse nation, bound by shared values, as defined by our Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Canada Passes 'Blasphemy' Bill To Silence Critics Of Islam
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-03-24/canada-passes-blasphemy-bill-silence-critics-islam

Despite polls showing that 71% of Canadians would not have voted for the measure, Canada's Parliament, with the strong backing of Justin Trudeau's Liberal government, passed a motion this week 201 to 91 that critics say singles out Islam for special protection. Tabled by Muslim liberal MP Iqra Khalid, M-103 urges the federal government to “condemn Islamophobia” and to “develop a whole-of-government approach to reducing or eliminating systemic racism and religious discrimination including Islamophobia.” The term “Islamophobia” is nowhere defined in the motion.

-- just like obamapuppetcare was pushed through... amazing...---

A petition on CitizenGo asking MPs to stop the “restrictive ‘anti-blasphemy’” motion has been signed by 79,500 people.

As LifeSiteNews reports, while the motion does not change existing laws or create new ones, it empowers a committee to study the issue of “eliminating…Islamophobia” and the federal government to collect data on Islamic ‘hate crimes’ for further study.

A Conservative alternative to the motion that condemned racism and discrimination against Muslims, Jews, Christians, and other religious groups — without including the word “Islamophobia” — was defeated by the Liberals in February. Liberals argued at that time that the Tories were simply trying to “water down” the very purpose of M-103, reported Huffington Post.

A number of Conservatives running for the the party's leadership have been outspoken about the problems they see in M-103.

Brad Trost said he could not support the motion because it “will only serve to strengthen extremist elements within the Muslim community itself that seek to preserve and promote their own form of hate and intolerance.” He added that any “serious plan to combat religious discrimination in Canada should include all faith groups, including Christians and Jews.”

Pierre Lemieux said that Canadians should be wary of the language in the motion.

“Do you have a valid concern about Islam? Do you disagree with Sharia Law? Uneasy about radical Islamic terrorism? The Liberals may very well classify you as Islamophobic,” he wrote in an email to supporters.

Lemieux, who called on supporters to pressure MPs to force a recorded vote on M-103, called it a “great day for accountability and for freedom of speech in Canada” when almost two dozen MPs stood up on Tuesday to demand such accountability.

Leadership contender Andrew Scheer also added his voice of opposition to the motion shortly before the vote, saying that it “could be interpreted as a step towards stifling free speech and legitimate criticism” of Islam.

M-103 is not inclusive. It singles out just one faith. I believe that all religions deserve the same level of respect and protection,” he wrote in an email to supporters.

“I will be voting against it because I believe in Freedom of Speech,” he wrote.

Finally, we leave it to Rebel Media's Faith Goldy to react to this attack on Canadians' most precious freedom-- the freedom of speech

Yeah, the Mayor is Muslim. You should read about some of the boroughs around New York, make your head spin that we have a lot of folks who don't look or think like you, and that's a good thing.

These people are scared about Muslims and terrorist attacks on American soil, but don't seem to give a rats a$$ about the guy down the block that is a child pedophile.......or the doctor prescribing an unbelievable amount of opiates.........or the crazy person who grabs a gun and goes in to a movie theatre and shoots up the place........

It's about like worrying about protecting your car from damage during a storm, but ignoring the tornado that is on the horizon.......

Except it's not a bill. It has no more force than a "sense of the Senate" resolution in this country. But hey, keep hyperventilating if that's what gets it up for you. [eyeroll]

The motion caused some confusion in Canada, with many believing it to be a “bill”, or a “law” ... Since in agreeing to a motion expressing a resolution, the House is only stating an opinion, the government will not be bound to adopt a specific policy or course of action.

Thanks for attempting to clarify the difference between Bill and Motion for him again Popeer, he won't listen ...never does...I tried in another thread and he decided to ignore it...as usual. No surprise whatsover.
However...just wait till he gets a load out of this ACTUAL Bill. He'll go off the deep end with histrionics, right wing rhetoric and stupid meme postings...meanwhile all it does is ensure more accountability.
