I sure hope we win, like always I will be praying hard and supporting our boys in blue. I can’t lie though It will feel pretty terrible to lose today after seeing Arky advance and how many injuries we have endured this year. I feel like our program is back on a good trajectory and upswing but I really want them to win this and get back to the sweet 16 again.
Some teams did pretty well yesterday, but eventually lost it at the end. Good teams know it’s a 40 minute game.
4-41 from three combined. Neither team played well yesterday. One just played less worse.
I'll admit, I have very low confidence we win today. I can never really pinpoint why I feel confident or not confident before a game - I just do. Every time this year I've been overly confident, we've lost. Every game I've had low confidence, we've won. So maybe it's a good thing?
I also am not hanging my UK flag outside this weekend. Every time I remembered to do it during the season, we lost.

Illinois present 3 specifically tough matchups for us. Ivicic, Riley and the Euro guard. Have to hope they are not as good as they were the other night as a team. They are hot or cold. Look great some games. Get absolutely destroyed others. I mean lambasted. Let’s hope they are off today and don’t shoot great. I think we will be able to score on them. Question is will Illinois be hot or cold.
The Cats need to play with 100% effort from start to finish. They have the talent and ability to- they need to defend, scrap for loose balls and rebounds and set screens to open up shooting like their lives depend on it. Play hard, guys! GBB!
In my opinion there will be a lot of factors that contribute to this but it’ll all come down to 3 point shooting for both teams.
If they are more effective than us from deep while also having the athleticism advantage, it’ll be very hard to win.

I understand why he does it but Pope needs to be dialed on on his substitution timing. Seems like some games are won or lost based on his substitutions which kill momentum to give players rest. I'd also be concerned about fouls. Match offense to preserve first half fouls.

Agree. We win this game if we make threes at a high rate and get tge 50:50 balls.
Andrew Carr is gonna win this game for the good guys. He's been playing very well lately, and I expect him to be the MVP today.
He can drive but he has to finish. He's missed more close ones this year than anyone on the team. And I want to see Amari dunk the ball when he gets ot deep down there.
Let’s get tournament W number 2 today and Popes first S16. I know it’s going to be a tall task but regardless of what happens, still looking forward to the road ahead and not a roster turn style every year. Happy for the Championships and FFs Cal brought us, but after year 15 of new faces it was time for a change

I had no good feelings about beating dUKe, Gonzaga, Florida or Tennessee before the season began and yet, the Cats rose to the occasion. Let’s get behind these guys, who have fought through adversity all year long and have overcome many obstacles in the process…

I kind of feel this. They come out hot from 3, we take an early deficit and play catch up the whole game with the crowd against us. I think the game is a coin toss but I do think we come out flat and let them take an early lead.
The only way to rid most of us from nervous excitement would be to come out and lead 100-0 at halftime. even then, I'm not sure if that would do. I'm quietly confident we win this game. I wanted the team to get CMP his first Tournament win in both the SEC and NCAA, and they have done that. I want them to get this win for themselves, now.

This. And those types of games are the worst because you see our guys trying to fight but it's like trying to bail out a boat with a thimble.
15+ leads usually make me relax a bit, especially during the 2nd half. But even then, especially in this modern era where the three is commonly used effectiely, that's not a safe lead like it used to be. 3-4 of those and a team can get back into it quickly.
