It’s not the 3 point shooting...

If you can’t get the ball inside or drive, you can’t set up a good 3 point shot. Ball movement, penetration and then get it to an open man is what gets you good 3 point opportunities.

0-6 from three is not just bad 3 point shooting.

These have been very easy 3 point opportunities tonight. We suck at the scoring part of basketball.

The threes are open- to wide-open. Knock them down and Pardon gets the ball without a double team.

Imagine that. Taylor hit a three. Next trip down, the Illini shades to him on the break and leaves Pardon one-on-one. A quick spin move later and Dererk gets the And-One.

Yup story of Our season. Can't make enough wide-open shots. When you make those, it frees up Pardon. EZ game.

Part of it is just bad shooting/lack of confidence when guys get wide open looks and miss.

That then leads to guys feeling pressure and we end up with law taking a turnaround jumper that even the announcer said "would be a tough shot for an NBA player"...

At times they don't seem to play with much bball IQ either. Taylor and Kopp were 5-11 from 3 last night, yet turner and law who were 2-13 kept taking them at key points. Bball 101.... feed the hot hands.

The last two seasons we have seen the team defer to the Seniors. CCC seems to go along with this as well. I will be glad when we don’t have any seniors next year to go too because it is as predictable has the sun coming up each day.

Agreed. Collins allows the vets to make bad decisions when he'd immediately pull a frosh for the same mistake.
