Painter didn’t experiment with different line ups or anything. It was a straight forward game for them. We were simply the better team, exhibition or not.

I saw two teams playing their best players and playing to win. I saw us playing without 2 starters. And I saw us handily beat the #1 team in the country. It is an absolutely positive start to the season for us. That is what I will take away from this game.

If you can prove to me neither of these teams was actually playing to win the game, I might go along with it meaning nothing. But can you watch that game and see the effort of both teams, and come away thinking it meant nothing? It's clear to me these teams were giving maximum effort. Watch the start of the 2nd half again, just for example. Purdue was clearly trying to push back into the game, and they did make a run, by increasing their defensive pressure and by working to get better looks on offense.

This is why it's so great being a Kentucky Wildcat fan, only Kentucky fans can feel this pumped up and happy over an exhibition game, that doesn't count on a record.

That’s false. Painter uses these exhibitions to try different combinations. We gave up 93 in an exhibition to Creighton last year. You guys played well tonight.
I’m sorry but I need to see your UK fan card. Kentucky fans know even if we play in the upper part of the barn or with a milk carton out back, it matters. Always has always will.
