How is Neal Brown not fired yet? I mean Colorado went out and got Deion Sanders and we got Ned Flanders, WTF?

With only 2 games remaining, it makes no sense firing him before the season ends. Better off waiting until the end of the season amd conducting a full scale national search.

I love that you think are process will be any better if we wait
A lot of coaches are winding up their seasons and concentrating on conference championship and a bowl appearance. Why rush a decision and possibly not get the best candidate? Unless we are gonna hire a HC not currently employed (Ex: Jimbo Fisher), it doesn’t make sense. Would firing Neal Brown and promoting his assistants as interim HC to finish the season make anything better?

I would argue that by firing him now, and finding the new head coach and staff, the university (AD) and future coaches can get a jumpstart on keeping our best players from hitting the portal. By keeping Brown until after the season (January 1st), we lose 2 months. So I guess those couple extra millions would be worth it, plus it isn't WVU's money anyways, and if the donors want him gone, they'll pony up and not complain.

We will lose what good players we have waiting

By firing him now, it would bring hope to the fan base. Why would they want to do that? I mean why change when you can just stay the same. It's just not the WVU thing to do.

I consider myself to be part of the fanbase and firing him now doesn't bring any hope to me. Actually, the opposite.

Will lose them no matter what. There is going to be a mass exodus coming with or without Brown.
I'm not advocating any decision on Brown but we will lose more quality players if he leaves versus staying. If decision is made to make a change, that is the way it is with 99% of all college programs

And I have witnessed this fanbase since Bowden and the same type of individuals have a false belief that calling for the coach to be fired, and each WVU coach has had that at some point in his tenure, is hope for the future. It can happen but chances are that emotional response is a false narrative if you look history among all programs.

It’s year 6. It’s not working. Most people can see that.

If you look at the history of WVU it clearly says that Brown is historically bad and finding an upgrade shouldn't be very hard. Even Holgerson is an upgrade. There is no reason for me to believe we can't and won't find a good coach.

Holgorsen failed here if you look at the way he finished seasons. Crapped the bed at end of the year every time.

We will find a good coach but it will be difficult for him due to not starting until January and not having a full staff until February. No way to build a program in year 1. Let's hope they don't give the next guy another huge buyout.

I agree with everything you said here. Holgerson left a lot to be desired. I think he was slightly better than brown but not by much. I do think we are an attractive destination for a good coach. There are people saying we already have one picked out and it's all but done. The bottom line it's time to move on from brown. If we bring some excitement back even with making a good hire, money will start flooding in. Win games and fill the stands and save the university from being broke.

This is very interesting and says a lot about our brand. WVU is legit and Brown is literally holding us back. A Utah fan breaks down wvu TV ratings.
