We lose 10% of our class in one week? This is not good--kind of reminiscent of our performance DURING the season.

I know there aren't a lot of positives about a decommit, but hopefully this lights a fire under Fitz' *** to really focus on kicking the piss out of Michigan for years to come (at least next year). It wasn't too long ago that I heard of a "gentleman's agreement" amongst Big Ten coaches to not poach commitments from partner institutions. That seems to have gone out the window some time ago. I know we have had our share of decommits over the last two years, but not to a Big Ten school this late in the process. I hope this only motivates Fitz.

I will file this under exhibit K as to Jim Harbaugh's general scumminess. Though, I'm sure 36 hours is enough time for him to play the admissions card when Grant's stellar academics come into question and are suddenly and shockingly not good enough to get into Michigan.

"I have great respect for NW and what they have done for me."

I know he's just taking the high road, but it's obvious NU was his safety net.

But all is far in love, war, and recruiting.

Why is it "scummy" when Michigan flips our recruit but perfectly ok when we flip Georgia Southern's? Come on folks this is recruiting. Nobody is official until the ink is dry on the LOI. You have to recruit to the finish, and if somebody flips your recruit, well that's how the game is played.

If he had so much respect for Northwestern don't you think he would have said "NU" instead of NW?

FYI, it really ticks of UM fans that MSU offered Perry a spot as a preferred walk on.

Ill take a stab at your rhetorical question...At no point did I say Michigan was scummy, i said Harbaugh was scummy, hell by your logic maybe Fitz is scummy too. The difference is that Harbaugh has many other documented occurrences of asshattery stemming from his days at Stanford. He would sell Perry up the creek if a higher rated recruit wanted to commit within the hour after Perry gave his verbal. Fitz does not have a record of doing that, quite the opposite actually.

That's just "Little brother syndrome" showing. Don't listen to them. Just keep beating the crap out of them.

Ridiculous. Jim Harbaugh is doing his job. If what he did was scummy, then what was it when we landed Zach Allen's replacement by poaching from Georgia Southern? Or taking a kid away from his own father? Don't throw stones.

If anything, blame Fitz for not holding on to the recruit. Or don't blame him, because this kid was UM all the way - the only reason we got him was they didn't offer. They did, and so now he's gone.

Philosophical differences on the shameless lack of character that defines Harbaugh aside, THIS is what's really at the heart of the whole thing.

Thats all we have ever been for the vast majority of top players who didnt get an offer from their favorite school.
Think about it, it made no sense at all for him to come here if michigan offered. Basically a no brainer.
