It's time for posters to quit bad-mouthing AD Barnhart. He went out, with the help of some former football players and got Coach Stoops. He has upgraded CWS to one of the best, and most modern fields in the SEC. He has basically given Coach Stoops a free reign as far as hiring players. I've always thought it takes a Coach 5 years to prove himself. I truly believe the Coaching Staff at UK is well on their way.
For some of the rumors I heard at one of the games, whoever started it should be ashamed, and I know I am ashamed of someone starting something like that. Whoever it was, is a disgrace to call himself a UK fan.
Some poster said Gran won't be at UK next year. I'm willing to bet he's wrong, unless Gran gets a job as a HC. The one thing I've learned about UK and UK fans, is, we will pay whatever it takes to keep our coaches. This season is just the start of bigger things to come. I truly believe I'm going to see UK be the team I use to watch 70 years ago. See everyone at the Bowl Game.

Why do we have to assume that Stoops will leave as soon as he turns things around? Every coach doesn't get a job at OSU, Alabama, Michigan, etc. Stoops wanted this job because he understood he could recruit here. Are there jobs he would leave for? Yes. Is this job unique for him? Yes. The draw of a Oklahoma State or Virginia Tech level job may not be the same considering his connections in recruiting and the draw he has with UK.

I never liked the man, but I will give credit where credit is due. He has in fact made moves to improve the really important athletic programs at UK; but of course that is why he is paid the big bucks. For me, he is finally earning his generous pay-check.

I'm pretty happy with that slate of hires. Fired BCG in world record time. In the era of identity politics he had to stick with CRB's designation of Joker as his coach in waiting. Coming on the heels of the rectal exam MB took in the media for hiring Brooks over Doug Williams....seriously...some of you guys are delusional with the Joker (former player) hire and having to give that a chance to work. I think MB has done a great job.

1. I'm glad CMS turned this season around...that took some good coaching as a staff to stay the course and not lose another game to teams that were at our level after the So Miss game. Then pulling off the UL upset was icing on the cake.
2. Barney still gets ton of negative for that huge contract when Stoops had no other offers waiting and we get a zero buyout if he leaves early. That was a goofy negotiation even if CMS pans out to some degree.
3. I will take the heat on this...but Stoops needs to have a good 2017 season to prove our program's direction as well. We won a ton of close games that could have been losses. Gran saved his bacon but CMS gets credit for hiring him. Stoops needs to cut bait on his defensive staff and philosophy to have a real direction for the team. But I think this will give him an excuse to keep Eliott around and if the offense doesn't hum...we'll go back as this defense is still not a very good one at all.

Yes, I remember the Bird family very well. Roger was the one I knew. Good deer hunter. Eastern , and Southeastern, Ky. produced good ball players when I grew up.
