Interesting that you mentioned Jackie Robinson. My grandson played for the Las Vegas little league which lost to Jackie Robinson in a DOUBLE Elimination tournament. Trouble was it was not a double elimination for Las Vegas as they lost only one game. After beating Jackie Robinson bad in the fist game they lost in the last game. They didn't get a chance to play another game probably due to the TV coverage. So much for double elimination.
What played out later with JR being tossed for boundary issue hurts both the JR and Las Vegas kids. Jackie Robinson will be known as cheaters even though the kids weren't and Las Vegas never got the recognition they deserved (trips to White House and Disney World). The grandson said the team wanted to win it on the field not by rules and they really don't feel like the US champions. I would imagine that no matter how the PN/Fenwick situation plays out in court both of these teams will feel tainted. Feel bad for players on both teams and it is a no win situation for either team.
