senior half of a 2 headed post . . . I rarely post for whatever reasons, but have been Big Blue for nigh on to 50 years. . . I generally have my big blue glasses on most of the time . . . but I am getting old . . . to,get to the point, this is a poorly coached in-game team . . . CMS comments on KRS were pitiful . . . I do say CMS gets 5 years, but imhave had it . . . we are never in the immediate future going to recruit at the level of several SEC teams . . . but if we are going to do,what ever we do, can't we at least be exciting???? When Hal Mumme was coach and Tim was the QB, we had 3 basic plays . . . run out of several formations . . . but the play was the same 90% of the time. . . . get open . . . I'll hit you . . . if Patty Ice (who I like) starts Saturday I am finished . . . #verypissedoffnow

Bye.

Reading this crap all week.....here goes:

The people that are upset are the ones that for whatever reason thought we'd beat Fla, Auburn, MSU, ut and UGA. Most of us that have been watching for years knew that was very unlikely. I predicted 4-6 wins this year. Anyone thinking there was a better chance of beating any of those teams than that of losing simply didn't have a clue as to where we are in this recovery stage or how much talent those teams have. .
I will admit that I was disappointed in the EKU performance but attributed that to a letdown following a big win....which happens with kids! As for the last four games...the Auburn game had too much emotional build-up and let-down. They trended downhill, which happens with kids!

We lost four games that 95% of all college Football fans across the nation would have expected us to lose. They will be ready Saturday because the kids will enter the game believing they will win it.

Wow!
You gotta admit though , Auburn and Georgia are not nearly as good as people expected . Tenn hasn't been that great either . The main thing I am concerned about is how we barely beat Eastern and ULL, and we're not even competitive in our last 3 games . It is a little disturbing to me that the worst loss in Stoops tenure has been in his 3rd year , at home , in a hyped up blackout game against an unranked team . But I'm nowhere close to calling for Stoops job at this point . I do think at the end of the year the job Shlarman is doing needs to be looked at very closely . And hire a competent special teams coach . Hal Mumme could do that for gosh sakes !

Are you referring to his loss against the best 4 loss team in the country?

Put me in the camp that wants to give CMS 5 unfettered years to turn the program around. Also put me in the camp of those that see a lot of issues. Uninspired play, questionable coaching, in-year regression, poor in-game adjustments. The program would not be well served to make any drastic changes now, though. We'd be in the same position of not being able to get a big name and taking an educated guess on an up-and-coming assistant.

Nerdcat. I'm with you. I've been following UK football for 70 years, but I'll never give up on them. I can remember the good days in the 50's, and I know we will probably never be there again, but I do believe we will become respectable.
Is Stoops the man for the job, I just don't know, and neither does anyone else. The jury is still out on him, but I think he deserves at least 5 years, as long as we keep improving. If Stoops doesn't work out, I would like for us to get a young coach from one of the smaller conferences, such as the Mac,etc., but that's getting the "Horse before the cart", so to speak.
I think Stoops has to have confidence in his OC, which I don't think he has in some games.
Think about something, Saban fought to prevent the NO Huddle offense, but lost. Why was he so against it. because it helps level the field if you don't have the quality of athletes Alabama, LSU, ND,Ohio State, etc. have.

You are as old as me. BTW, it is "Cart before the horse". It wouldn't be a saying if the horse was before the cart because the horse is supposed to be in front of the cart. That is what makes the cart keep moving. Any way. If you have been a fan for 70 years and you are not frustrated, you are a monk.
