I've lost all confidence in Mark Stoops as a head coach

It's become quite obvious that the man is simply not a good head football coach. Completely inept in every facet of the game.

But this is truly one of the worst coaching jobs in college football...I don't think Urban Meyer could win at UK.

If Mitch didn't spend money so easily like he has a hole in his pocket...we'd be able to go into year 4 of Stoops as do or die and be able to move on. As it is, Mitch gives him a 6 year extension mid point of last year and we're stuck with this for at least 3 more years. No way UK can eat 5 years of salary at $3.25 M per.

Serious question.... what was the story with the Stoops hire again? Something about approaching Barnhart with a "plan"?

If UK misses a bowl this year I'm off it. He has 3 games to save the season and my opinion going forward.

Amy criticism stoops and staff receive are well deserved. I am sure the sunshine pumpers will be along soon enough to explain how it takes 10 years to field a competitive team though.

Agreed. Nothing short of winning out the rest of the year will make me think any different. This team has looked totally lost and unprepared for 3 straight games and it's totally unacceptable.

I was concerned after we won 2 games his first year. I don't like the "look what he inherited" excuse either. I was the same way with Gillispie. If your predecessor sucked and was let go it should be expected to do better right away. In both instances the bar was low and neither accomplished anything more.

If you remember Joker was considered an upgrade as a recruiter to Brooks. Brooks issue was recruiting not coaching. Joker and Stoops both inherited rosters that weren't SEC quality.

It wouldn't be so difficult to stomach if this team didn't have any talent, depth, or playmakers. But this team has talent on both sides of the ball, and for the first time in awhile, looked comparable to other good SEC teams. This was evident back during the first few games against UF, USC and MIZZOU -- back when UK was actually confident and before other teams had tape to review of our predictable and shallow offensive schemes -- but now its obvious that we lack offensive coaching abilities. Stoops is a defensive specialist and the defense has been consistently good this season. Yet, he took a chance on Dawson, who has never had to call plays before I mind you, and he misfired. I really think our issues can be easily resolved: new up-and-coming OC, overhaul the OL, develop a QB with more mobility and consistency.

Then you people need to go cheer for a different team. Stoops has everything going in the right direction. He can't do what you want or expect in only 3 years. Hell he needs at least 5.

Be realistic and not delusional. We have came a long ways from where he took over.

He's made some questionable hires with Elliot and Dawson. We have a OC who had never called a play before moving to Lexington. That's pretty concerning and I think we can now see it was a gamble that hasn't paid off. I'm willing to give Elliot a bit more time as our talent level on the defensive side is pretty bad.
Either way Stoops is here at least 3 more seasons. Too large of a buyout for UK to eat.

He has to win the last 3 or the fans will quit on him. Bad thing it looks like his team has quit on him and when that happens it's usually the end of a coach. You can't lose your team and get everybody to buy back in. Once the team quits you have to have a different staff or different players and most of our guys are going to be there another 3 or 4 years.

5 years for this to look like a well coached football team? Stop it.

Maybe by the time my non existent grandchildren are adults, Stoops will have had enough time?
