Beamer is doing the same things that got former coaches into hot water by refusing to admit he made a mistake when he hired a coordinator. His loyalty to the coaching fraternity exceeds his loyalty to the school and the fans. (and maybe the team too)

ALL he does is make mistake hires. Almost like he has no HC experience. But he's been a HC in the SEC for 5 years. He's not a fast learner.
In Beamer's mind, he is still a position coach. He sees the world as an asst. coach, not as a head coach. He relates to the asst. coaches and knows that if he makes a change, a coach loses his job and his family has to move and Beamer doesn't like to do that to them. This is why he has such loyalty to his staff.
Most head coaches were positions coaches but transitioned. Will Beamer ever transition?
It can be lonely at the top sometimes.
The Board of Trustees and Tanner thought Beamer was a chip off the old block. That was a huge misjudgment. Negotiate a buyout now.
We might end up 3-9 by losing to Coastal who scored 45 points on App State. If that happens there can be no status quo heading into next year. It just can't happen.
So the question becomes whether Donati forces Beamer's hand or allows him to make his own hire to replace Shula. If I am Donati, I would tell SB to pay whatever Briles wants and get him here and let him hire his own staff. If Beamer refuses then I think you fire Beamer for insubordination.
We made the same mistake Arkansas did: We made someone, who has never proved he can run a football program, a Head Coach. Watch who Arkansas hires now.
I can’t decide if your post is great, or terrible. I’ve poured my heart into the Gamecocks for half a century. Their losses impact my mood far more than is healthy. This movie is getting SO old! If we’re going to turn this thing around we‘re going to need another coach like Morrison, Holtz or Spurrier.
