What’s the attendance of a men’s baseball game at home?
Don’t know but I would guess today’s attendance at 200-250. Beautiful sunny day but only 38 degrees! On a 65 degree day maybe 300? Have been really enjoying these games, the guys are getting it done.

Looks like women’s softball gets a few more butts in the seats.

Fans like winning. If this keeps up, so will attendance. College baseball is terrific. I’m really rooting for Greenspan. Would love to see NU success on the diamond.

He is not a QB in NU future. Period. Nor should he be. Good luck in baseball.
His scholarship is for FB, Likely BB does not have enough scholarships to give him one Don't know what the rules are but would guess he has to stay on the FB roster

Great win for NU tonight. Ganus hits the homer to win it. Liolios with another one as well. Nice to see Greenspan achieving success. Hope he sticks around…no reason NU can’t field a team that competes for the B1G title year in and year out.

Great to see us win game 2 today, what a beat down! Noticed that Alex Calarco is Maryland’s starting catcher. Alex transferred from NU before Ben Greenspan was hired. Always thought he was a good player, wonder what it was like for him to play against many of his former teammates. Let’s get the sweep tomorrow!

While I love the sentiment, there are many reasons NU can't field a team that competes for the B1G annually.

I DO think NU can build a program that competes for the BTT year-in, year-out.

Stability is really the first step to that. Coach Greenspan is awesome and I hope he stays, because it gives us a shot!

Does Greenspan have the necessary allotment of scholarships needed to compete for a B1G Championship? That’s that big question…

Great way to close out the series. Iowa has a very good team this year. We are proving that we belong!

Greenspan making an impact in just year two. I really hope he receives the support necessary to succeed. We should be providing him with the scholarship numbers he deems necessary. Future looks bright!

I am old enough to remember the last time Northwestern won the Big Ten in baseball. It was 1957. Their star pitcher was Jay Hook, who went on to have a major league career, and their Big Ten record that year was 6 wins and 2 losses. Lots of bad weather that spring and they didn't play that many games anyway and there was no post season.

Jay Hook? 1962 expansion NY Mets?

It's amazing what good coaching can do to transform a program.

So true. Let’s hope the administration. Is supportive when it comes to scholarship allotment and NIL. If they are not, I don’t imagine Greenspan will stick around very long.

Great game, I was there. Hand had not played much and he really made a statement today! Good for him. Lausch had an RBI early in the game with a long ball to LF. Very impressed with the turnaround of Wildcat Baseball, Ben Greenspan is doing one hell of a job (and I told him this before the game)

Yep, I think he pitched for Cincy before that. He then came back to school to get his degree and I was in a class with him. Hook was also a basketball player at NU.

We stinks again.
No Skunk, we don’t stink! The team is much better than last year and we are roughly in the middle of the pack as you look at the B1G standings. No longer cellar dwellers. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of room for improvement but I think Ben Greenspan is the real deal. The improvement vs. last year is noticeable, we will keep grinding.

Great day at Miller Park! We made a number of impressive plays in the field (esp Mc Elfatrick) and our bats came alive (esp Freeman, Kucherak). Lausch runs like a deer in CF and is doing much better at the plate. His batting average broke below .200 a week or two ago but is now about .230. Really enjoy going to these games. Sat next to a parent today who said this is a very tight group which is great to hear. Go ‘Cats!

Cats are now 9-12 in conference play and 19-22 overall which is a HUGE improvement over last season. Greenspan has the program headed in the right direction, no doubt! 📈
