I wish he would have done it sooner so Braun would have found another real QB in 2024. That should have been a bowl team too.Jack made a great choice ditching football.
Lujan really thought Lausch was the future, so I can't really blame Lausch for giving it a shot when his coaches placed their chips on him.I wish he would have done it sooner so Braun would have found another real QB in 2024. That should have been a bowl team too.
What makes you think he is a MLB prospect?I’d love to see jack playing on marquee network for the cubs in the coming years!
Why not? If he bats over .300 in college...all I'm saying is that I'd love to see him succeed. I met him after a practice when he was Nu's qb. Talked only for about 15 seconds as he was leaving practice field near north beach. He was a really nice young fellow. Not sure if he is a mlb prospect- but it would just be cool if he turns into oneWhat makes you think he is a MLB prospect?
If he plays a good CF and is athletic enough to project to stay there, he’ll at least get a chance somewhere. However, .300 with composite bats isn’t majorly impressive and his 30% K rate is a massive red flag. Why not? If he bats over .300 in college...all I'm saying is that I'd love to see him succeed. Everyone woukd love to see him get a chance. He will get drafted, but the odds of ever seeing a MLB AB are long. Also, no doubt he is a super fine fellow, that doesn’t make him a MLB player. I would love to be wrong and hope he sees time in the bigs. Why not? If he bats over .300 in college...all I'm saying is that I'd love to see him succeed. Agree. A quck random check of another program (Texas Tech) that isn't close to being a conference leader. They have 8-9 players with batting averages over .300 and no one with anything close to Lausch's strikeout ratio. Strike zone awareness seems to be a problem, and the pros (not just MLB) would seize on that.If he plays a good CF and is athletic enough to project to stay there, he’ll at least get a chance somewhere. I love what this kid is all about, but this talk of a real professional baseball career is pie in the sky. Very very few late round position players ever make it past A ball. Couple those odds with his advanced age for a prospect and he would have to dominate lower levels almost immediately to get promoted. I’ve been around Minor League ball quite a bit and have seen dozens of high round draft picks fizzle out and many don’t make AA ball let alone the bigs.I've seen him play live a bunch of times and he has struggled with chasing against pitchers throwing topping out between 88 and 92 MPH and breaking balls in the mid 70s. I expect he will be a late round draft pick but it's going to be one and done if he doesn't get better on laying off stuff, especially as the velocity gets a lot higher. I would also note that some SEC pitchers and other assorted southern/western pitchers do throw closer to top-end major league speed and he hasn't seen a lot of those yet.
Is this his senior season? Hopefully he gets a nu degree and then a mlb chanceMLB will always take a chance on superior athletes. Launch appears to be an outstanding defensive outfielder and looks to have good exit velocity at bat. As you progress in baseball , the pitching improves but the pitchers throw more strikes, which may lead to fewer K's. I would anticipate that he will be drafted but if not the Arizona instructional league, equivalent of low A ball , would be available.
Every team has at least 5 minor league teams. I believe the cap is 165 players per franchise. You are looking at approximately 5000 minor league players. Teams need players to fill out rosters to insure their real prospects are developed in games. They know full well most of them have no chance of playing in the big leagues.MLB will always take a chance on superior athletes. And what stud QB was that that we could have brought in for 2024? We had already brought in Mike Wright, Lausch was the backup who came in after Wright failledI wish he would have done it sooner so Braun would have found another real QB in 2024. That should have been a bowl team too.
Remember they brought in Wright to be the starter, Lausch became the starter after Wright could not get it done, Pretty hard to bring in anyone else at that point.Lujan really thought Lausch was the future, so I can't really blame Lausch for giving it a shot when his coaches placed their chips on him.
Given the QB we just signed (Day) it appears that we are only recruiting developmental prospects out of high school. And what stud QB was that that we could have brought in for 2024? We had already brought in Mike Wright, Lausch was the backup who came in after Wright failled
Out of HS, they are all developmentalGiven the QB we just signed (Day) it appears that we are only recruiting developmental prospects out of high school.
Wright was a backfire, much like the Lujan hiring.
I meant he needs to develop to even be a Patriot League quarterback.Out of HS, they are all developmental
They placed Lausch above Sullivan which basically forced him out, then they benched Wright after the Duke game and he never got another shot. You will never convince me that Lausch was a better option than Sullivan that season, but Lujan thought Gronowski was going to follow him to NU, so Sullivan was the one the coaches chose free up a roster spot. The only explanation for this is that the coaches decided Lausch had more potential. They played some stupid games with the QB roster that season.Remember they brought in Wright to be the starter, Lausch became the starter after Wright could not get it done, Pretty hard to bring in anyone else at that point.
Sully was not a B1G QB. Should have played MAC or next tier down .They placed Lausch above Sullivan which basically forced him out, then they benched Wright after the Duke game and he never got another shot.
