With him committing, how will that work as far as available scholarships? If I'm correct, right now we have 10 players on scholarship counting the scholarship that Justin Robinson received this season because we had one available for him. After this season we could possibly be losing up to 4 players: 1 definitely gone to graduation (Marshall), possibly another to graduation if he doesn't redshirt (Amile), one leaving for the NBA (Brandon) and possibly another leaving for the NBA (Grayson). Let's say we only lose Marshall (to graduation) and Brandon (to the NBA) that leaves us with 8 players on scholarship from this year's team (if Justin Robinson keeps his scholarship) so with Jack White committing that will give us 13 players on scholarship (if Justin Robinson keeps his scholarship) because Jack White is our 5th commit for next season. So if Bolden ends up choosing Duke then he'll be our 6th commit for next season, which would give us 14 players on the team not counting walk-ons, so is it safe to assume that Justin Robinson will go back to being a preferred walk-on like he was going to be this season until a scholarship became available?

Does this recruit have anything to do with the Ben Simmons recruitment? Were coaches impressed while watching Simmons? I have no idea what he'll be at Duke. An Aussie SF with good height/weight in the practice squad?

Welcome to your new city, Jack!

scholarship max for next year: Amile, Matt, Grayson, Obi, Luke, Derryck, Chase, Vrank, Justin, Harry, Jayson, Frank, Javin, Jack, Bolden = 15, 2 over the limit. David Robinson would pay Justin's way w/ pocket lint, and as most are beginning to speculate, Amile and Bolden are mutually exclusive. So that would be our 13. Of course, Grayson could leave, and there's always the chance of transfer I don't like to speculate about. I'm guessing our interest in Omer Yurtseven has to do w/ the fact that even Amile's departure is no guarantee we get Bolden.

I know nothing about Jack yet, but I like it. We lose Matt and likely Jayson after next year, so Justin and Jack would be our most likely 3s on roster. The staff must believe in Jack's potential down the line, and they must have sold him on that role for himself, too.

I don't think Justin Robinson is worried about paying for school. Or should I say the Admiral.

Happy to have Jack aboard. Will Jack be the next "white boy" to hate at Duke. Pun intended. OFC

I sure hope there is still a scholarship available for Bolden. But nonetheless, congrats Jack hope you can contribute by your JR or SR year.

Something told me I was missing a scholarship player somewhere and I missed Vrankovic, so that's 11 scholarship players this season.

Jack White red shirting next year is a possibility also. All depends on how deep we are. We won't know that until Bolden makes a decision and what Grayson decides to do. And yes the transfer issue always seems to play in. Anyway you look at it next years team may be the deepest ever. I still believe in the fact that it's better to have the bucket of water so full that it over flows. You may lose some good water but it's better than having it half or three quarters full. Crazy analogy I know but it's the best I can come up with. And while we're on the subject of next year we know that Coach K has a heavy load on him as soon as the season comes to an end. He has knee replacement surgery then it's the Olympics. Remember he's 69 and it's going to take time for him. My thoughts and prayers are all ready with him during this tough time. The staff will need to step it up and keep things running just as he were there. I have all the faith in Coach Capel and the rest of he staff. OFC

Nice. Need pickups like this while going for multiple one and dones. Even without the one and dones, how many really good to great Duke teams were one veteran role player away from winning it all. Unfortunately, several.
