First off you got.......
Austin Rivers Shooting Guard, 6-4, DUKE averaged 15.5 points for a game

And as far as non Duke players you got

Dion Waiters SG, 6-4, 12.6 pts, 4th Pick(1st Round)
Avery Bradley SG, 6-4 11.6 Points, 19th(1st Round

I'm not sure what you guys are arguing about, didn't really read through the back and forth, but is there any reasons these guys don't count as SG that are 6-4 and averaged less than 16.0 points per a game? Especially when one of them played for Duke at one point.

So, if we are talking round numbers.. did Austin Rivers average 15ppg or 16ppg?

And 16ppg is a number I literally came up with off the top of my head, and then later realized it applied to the last 3 drafts and all Duke shooting guards.. I wasn't going to research every draft ever..

So congrats, you found 2 players that broke this trend 5+ years ago.. Frank Jackson hadn't played his first high school basketball game when Dion Waiters was drafted.. and he probably hadn't even hit puberty when Avery Bradley was drafted..

And in 1954, Frank Shelvy was a 6'3" SG/SF that was the #1 overall draft pick.

One again has there been anything where the kid has actually declared?

We're not arguing back and forth! Joes stance was on the size and ppg and mine is on potential. We have been left it alone it's really on a difference of opinion.

I've seen the word " source" with every Jackson article but nothing official from Jackson his self. One would think it's not wanting to compete because he only had three options. Go pro, come back or transfer and sit out a year somewhere else.
And going pro includes dleague or overseas.

Shey the article I saw Saturday nite was his dad saying Frank was declaring. I havent seen an actual quote from Frank (like yourself). I get the feeling his dad is essentially the chief liaison to the media at this point.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, yes, he's actually declared. The NBA released its official list of underclassmen who declared. Frank is on that list. See:

Lands alive Granny, he's alive. You been on vacation with OADD?

I wish I had been on a vacation, got one coming up. In a few weeks I will be headed to the mountains (Asheville) for a week to see my mom, and then to the Outer Banks for 2 weeks to visit my sister. I hate this time of year on the boards. Trying to make sense of why a recruit wore a certain color of sweatshirt to school, doesn't interest me. I let Guru Gary and the Mafia do all the hard lifting! Thought I would lurk a bit and see if could learn something. I'll be around... Hope all is well with everybody!

60 plus years ago is a little different than 5 years ago. The guys I mentioned are still in the league. A PG hasn't went #1 In 5 drafts, does that mean it will never happen again? Someone should probably let Fultz know.

I get your point and it's a valid one, but if one person can buck the trend why couldn't another this draft? Why couldn't that person be Frank Jackson?

I've been saw that list. Just never saw any article that said any thing except "sources: Dukes Frank Jackson to enter draft" nothing official from him like the rest of the under classmen.
That's all I was saying.

Ok, but just to be clear: "Official announcements" straight from the player via twitter, an interview, whatever, don't mean ****.

What means **** is filing the paperwork with the NBA. And Frank did that, as evidenced by the NBA including Frank on their list. So I'm not sure what could possibly be more official than that.

You know what else is weird? Wooly Mammoths walked the Earth for centuries AFTER the Pyramids were built.

Look, first off I don't give a care if the kid goes stays goes over seas plays in the dleague or transfers. It's his choice.
Sorry I don't have time to look at ever fine line damn print like most. Some on here get over worked up about the simplest thing.

I am, I'm gonna grab my corona sit on my back porch listen to the waves from the beach and chill.
Kids are already starting to return even with out the first invite being sent out to the combine I think Frank will do the same.
