First off you got.......
Austin Rivers Shooting Guard, 6-4, DUKE averaged 15.5 points for a game
And as far as non Duke players you got
Dion Waiters SG, 6-4, 12.6 pts, 4th Pick(1st Round)
Avery Bradley SG, 6-4 11.6 Points, 19th(1st Round
I'm not sure what you guys are arguing about, didn't really read through the back and forth, but is there any reasons these guys don't count as SG that are 6-4 and averaged less than 16.0 points per a game? Especially when one of them played for Duke at one point.
So, if we are talking round numbers.. did Austin Rivers average 15ppg or 16ppg?
And 16ppg is a number I literally came up with off the top of my head, and then later realized it applied to the last 3 drafts and all Duke shooting guards.. I wasn't going to research every draft ever..
So congrats, you found 2 players that broke this trend 5+ years ago.. Frank Jackson hadn't played his first high school basketball game when Dion Waiters was drafted.. and he probably hadn't even hit puberty when Avery Bradley was drafted..
And in 1954, Frank Shelvy was a 6'3" SG/SF that was the #1 overall draft pick.
