At a minimum. Eight wouldn't surprise me. Duke could very well have only O'Connell, Goldwire and Baker returning next season. Perhaps Stanley.

Thanks. I know of the interest in Dickinson and Williams. I'm interested to see what else materializes.

Like in play, or personality?
Both. That jumper is not college ready and he's got a false sense of confidence. Basically, he looks immature to me.

I'm still going to support him and not trash talk if he has a few bad outings. I see a 4 star from where I am sitting. Maybe there's something I can't see from the Youtube.

Well most sites have him as a four star.

Sorry to be negative on this one. I just don't see much in terms of immediate impact paired with a very confident young man that sees himself as some kind of go-to guy. Maybe he'll make a nice adjustment to team ball and I'm misreading it. That's what I want.

I also skipped my nightly beer. Let me fix that problem right now.

I can see where you’re coming from. He does appear to have a possible disconnect between how he sees himself and his actual self, but I guess what matters is how he uses and expresses his confidence. His jumper is definitely not great to look at, but, like McBob, he does handle the ball well, and appears to good vision for someone his size. I’ll take that as long as he approaches this the way he should. McBob had outrageous potential, hopefully this is a do over!

A lot of these 4 stars are on the fringe of 5 star. Plus is there still a chance the nba doesn’t require one year out of high school by 2021. Having guys who have a higher probability of sticking around after one year will be needed to transition that year.

Exactly, these are the type of players that stick around college a few years and end up going deep into the tournament.

I'm surprised at the negativity at this guy. Seems that because Hairston didn't work out, every guy ranked 30-50 is doomed. Grayson anyone? We do know that most national champions have stars in the 30-50 category as opposed to a bunch of top 10ers, right?

A guy ranked 35th can either be on his way up or on his way down. Let's hope this fine looking young man is about to blow up.

these are the kind of guys that uva just won the title with. they had one top 20 guy on that roster. to me it is almost like saying unless K has overwhelming talent he cant coach kids up. i dont get the down comments on a top 40 kid.

We supposedly have the best coach, a solid staff, and a world class facility for these kids. Other coaches get guys little known. It’s time some of ours develop.
Too many posters here are hung up on mock drafts, will they be all stars...

Get off my lawn.

It's called Kentucky-itis. We have to get rid of it. We're spoiled and have missed the point of building a team instead of a group of all-stars.

I'm trying to cure myself of the affliction as quickly as possible.

I'm not down at all, I'm excited for any kid that wants to be at Duke, I just hope everyone who is way up doesnt get their Hope's up then start downing the guy for not scoring 20 a game, and the guys who are disappointed that this guys committed welcomes him and give him time to develop if needed.

Don't know if this kid is any good or not, but the write up from Evans and Bossi sounded ok to me.

Rank doesn’t matter he’s a Duke commit who jumped at the chance to play in Durham. Welcome young man and let’s get it .

He wants to be a Dukie. Not every player we get is going to be an impact player. Who knows what kind of player he will turn out to be. Sounds like a rare 4 year player for us which excites me in the sense of I have always loved 4 year guys no matter what. A lot of people on this board really gave Josh Hairston a hard time and some still do for some reason. I got to know his uncle by marriage who used to deliver kitchen counter tops at where I worked at the time. We would talk about Josh. He said Josh realized his limitations at had accepted his role at Duke. He said he knew what a great opportunity he had by being part of the Duke program and the great gift of a free eduaction at one of the finest academic universities in the country. I hope some of you who reads this about Josh appreciates him a players like him a little more. We got Josh Hairston and unc cheater u ended up with p.j. hairston who had ten times the talent Josh had but which one would you hire for your business. I post a lot about bashing players and why I wish we would cut down on it. I'm 67 years old although I don't feel like I'm that old and if you were around me you would say I really need to grow up. I was once a Duke player basher. Early 70's when we really struggled. We had a point guard named Steve Gray and he became my target. It got to where I blamed him for loss although looking back he was decent college player. Anyone that can play college sports of any kind has to be pretty good. Steve has to be close to my age though and I often think of what he is doing now. You know he's probably retired by now and I would be willing to bet he was very succesful in his career. Being a Duke basketall player has to be special but to add a degree to that has to make it even more succesful. I can't forsee what kind of impact any of our recruits next year will be. Some may become All Americans, some may really add to the program , some may justvbe roll players, some may rarely see the court and true some may transfer but they committed to Duke and I will support them. OFC

Update on Steve Gray. I'm eating crow right now. Steve was on the Bill Foster '78 team and was a starter. He made a couple of bad plays that cost them a game. He never never saw the floor again and the playing time went to
N.C. transfer John Harrell and eventually to Indiana transfer Bob Bender. Steve's claim to fame now is he was sentenced to insider trading in 2015. Shame, shame, shame on you Steve. I still am not a fan of bashing our own though. Bashing unc cheater u players is so much more fun. OFC

Wow, that's a name from the past. I was a big John Harrell fan. I thought her gave us some quickness that was needed in the backcourt. Bob Bender was a better shooter though and a tough guy. What a fun team that was!

Sad that John passed away in 2008 at 50 years of old and I think Bob is an assistant coach with the Grizzlies. It's also sad that Bob has lost that beautiful mane of hair. OFC

This is a great pickup for Duke. Duke will lose Javin, Carey and possibly Matt. Brakefield, Coleman and maybe Hunter/Mark should ease the transition. I want to believe Keanan will gain some weight and be more than just a practice player.

Sky think that Grey lost his spot in 76 he dribbled the ball off his foot against Virginia I think. The coaching staff lost confidence in him and never saw significant playing time after that.He got injured in a car accident and received a huge settlement. Also think he worked with Kenny Dennards company

Still remember the FTs against Notre Dame in the FF. He had ice water flowing thru his veins.

I seriously Lol’d out at this!!
Funny, but the voice sounded like Sarah Jessica Parker. Please tell me I didn’t upvote a Sex and the City clip. I loathe that show. Every girlfriend I had in the late 90s early 00s was obsessed with that show. I’ve watched more episodes than I care to admit in an effort to get nookie. One thing I love about my wife is that she didn’t watch that show.

I think you are right. I watched the game where he dribbled the ball off his foot . Anyway he really screwed up. He actually should be out. Hope he gets it together. I also think he lost some money of Dennards. OFC

I have no idea where it was from, I just thought it was pretty funny
