In his first NBA game, Jahlil Oakfor had 26 points (10-16 FG) and went 6-6 from the FT line in 38 minutes.

Oh yeah.. the opposing starting center was Tyler Zeller (6 points).. Errrrrrg.

Justise had a monster highlight dunk against the Hornets as well..

Jah also showed off an array of offensive moves. I watched almost the entire game....and besides Isaiah Thomas, Jah was the best player on the floor all night.

Okafor is going to be a problem in the post. He will not see the double team like he saw in college and will have more room to operate as well. He seems to have also worked on his positioning and footwork defensively. I watched the game because I am a rabid Celtic fan and do not miss any of their games and Okafor was the best player on the floor for large stretches of the game. Little I.Thomas is fun to watch though.

Also, If Jah and Noel stay healthy, that is going to be a heck of a duo up front. Noel is fun to watch.

Justise only had 5 and 7 I think, but his plus/minus was +26 in a 10 point win. Which is pretty much what you'd expect from him. Dude just helps his team win.

I've been thinking we should have a running thread for duke players in the NBA during the season. There's a lot of guys to keep track of.

There isn't a bigger Wolves around than me....but if there's one thing I've learned it's that Rubio's game last night is likely the exception, and not the rule. He's a solid NBA player who last night was hitting his jumper, but I'm not holding my breath that it continues.

Tyus will get a few opportunities this season. Right now, though, Rubio is the better option.

So jaded, haha. I'll see for myself tomorrow, going to my first NBA game: Wolves v. Nugs.

Watching Jah dominate NBA level guys just reaffirmed how special he was. Watching him dominate a former tar heel in his rookie debut, well, that was just priceless. I hate Boston couldn't trade up to get him. LA made a big, big mistake. Guards are plentiful in free agency, but Jah is going to be a once in a decade type of guy.

Boston tried to trade up to draft Winslow. That is the guy they wanted, but nobody would budge.

Not even CLT, who ended up taking KAMINISKY. They legit had been offered multiple picks for the 9 and wouldnt do it------again for KAMINISKY.

Great start for Jah, really glad to see it, he deserves the attention. As for Justise, Boston trying to trade up to get him shows how great a talent evaluator Brad Stevens is! People saying that Winslow was the steal of the draft, Brad already knew that.
As for Tyus, he won't be in the "D" league long, he will play this year. Too saavy and a real student of the game.
I can see why Phil Jackson passed on these Duke players, they just don't fair well against good competition!
Go Duke!!

I bet if Charlotte knew MKG would be out for the year, they would have taken Winslow.. I really wish they would have drafted him anyways.

The Hornets are starting PJ and it's already been said they look at him in the future as a small forward. I know some of you think I'm a little board about this UNC/Hornet thing but they're bringing in more Heels and they are going to give PJ every opportunity and more to become the focal point of this team. Let's see how the 2016 draft goes and watch the trades.. Don't be surprised to see Lawson a Hornet before not very long. Also Larry brown and George Karl linger on don't they. OFC

I'm a Hornets fan and Hairston has just not impressed me at all.. He has played a total of 35 minutes in 2 games.. He has 6pts (2-8 from 3), 1reb, 2ast.. And he is not a good defender.. I would much rather have Gerald Henderson playing the 2 this year than Hairston.. And it has nothing to do with Duke/UNC because I'm pulling for PJ now that he is a Hornet.

Noel did not play last night and Jahlil had 15 rebounds (21 points).. So that probably explains his low rebounding stats.

Buzzooka. I just have to know. Does he still stare down his opponent and does he still do the hulk down when he dunks. He's a Tar Heel. He will always be a Tar Heel . He's Tar Heel family along with Hansbrough and Williams. What you going to do next year when there's a couple more Tar Heels on the roster. If the entire roster was field with Tar Heels how wold it be. Just picking at you. I guess you've been a Hornet fan since the beginning of the franchise and I admire and believe in team loyalty. I'm a Colt fan and have been since the days of Johnny Unitas. Even when they moved from Baltimore I stayed a fan. OFC
