Jahlil Okafor trade rumors

That stinks though because if Ingram does get drafted number one I would love to see him playing with Jah!
As nice as it would be to have another Duke player get drafted #1 in the draft. I really hope the 76ers draft Simmons at #1 so that Ingram doesn't end up in Philadelphia, especially if Okafor does get traded.

The only worry about going to Boston, however, is he's likely to be stuck behind Zeller on the depth chart. I can't imagine he'll beat out someone who's had four years of development under Roy's tutelage.
Haha, you had me for a second there. Boston may not retain Zeller. That is uncertain right now. Though Zeller is pretty good and I would love to have him back on the Celtics. He is a good player.

I think there may be something to the fact that the Celtics will let zeller go. The hornheels will be the perfect fit for zeller. His brother is there and with the rumors that Jefferson will go elsewhere it's logical. They go after barnes, draft both paige and johnson and they are well on their way to having the family just move from their alma mater to the NBA . OFC

Big Jah to Boston makes almost too much sense...They desperately need more offensive fire power....Plug him into the starting lineup and he will give you 20 points per night....And if anyone can squeeze out some defensive ability it will be a coach like Brad Stevens....I think Big Jah is much better than anyone who will be available at 3 this year.

Okafor fills a big time need for the Celtics. Low post scoring is not Bostons strong suit.

What would the Sixers be getting from Boston in return?

From what I can tell, the proposed deal would be:

Celtics get: Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas, Carl Landry, picks No. 24, No. 26

Sixers get: Avery Bradley, Terry Rozier, R.J. Hunter, picks No. 16, No. 23

Aren't they throwing in Boston's 3rd pick too?

^That is the deal that Chad Ford is completely speculating on his own. His speculative trade scenario contrasts with the report from Tim Welsh who says that the Sixers are, "putting the full court press on the Celtics to acquire the third pick" in hopes of drafting Kris Dunn.

The Celts and Sixers will both inevitably make some major moves during draft week. The Celtics have 4 first-round picks and 4 second-round picks; The Sixers would seemingly have 5 promising big men who would be available in 2017 with Okafor, Noel, Saric, Embiid, and Simmons... A trade of some sort seems highly plausible between these two franchises. If it doesn't happen, I would still expect Okafor to end up somewhere else.

That's a great deal for Philly, not so much for Boston, IMO. That depletes their proven, versatile defensive players. Maybe they have a plan for signing a big free agent SG/SF on top of that? JR Smith?

I wouldn't think they'd make that trade to get JR Smith.

One defensive player and two rookies from this past year. Avery is a heck of a defender but Marcus Smart and Jae Crowder remain on the roster and they are not that far behind Avery, if at all. Jae Crowder and Marcus Smart are much more versatile than Avery as well.

Sorry if that was just speculation. That was the only description I found, haha.

So with that scenario, if LA passes up on Ingram does Boston take him at 3 or take a guard to replace Bradley? I doubt Ingram drops that far but I'd love to have him in Boston.

I wouldn't mind him in Boston under Stevens. Could be really interesting there. But, he could be pretty great with Simmons dishing him the ball as well. Eventually, these high picks have to yield something for the 76ers.

Wow could you imagine... Cody and Tyler... the Twin Towers!?!?

But I don't think Boston would be dumb enough to let Tyler Zeller walk. They would just be handing Charlotte the NBA championship next year (and probably the 8 years after that)

Agreed. It would be "The Curse of the Bambino" all over again for the city of Boston. Can't let go of a legend that easily.

It drives me nuts how jahlil is crapped on more than deangello Russell. You would think he was the worst player with no chance at getting better. Hopefully someone wakes up and picks him up so he can stop wasting his time in philly

Oak is not an 'Alpha Dog' on the court and that has lower his stock. Many GMs have said he has the potential, along with Boogie Cousins, to bring the traditional post man back. But both are lazy, bad attitudes, and weak conditioning.

Anige would've snatched Oak but he does not want another Sullinger.

Ainge wont give the high asking price for Okafor. Philly is asking a lot.

Don't see Minny trading Dunn. I think he will be their starting PG very soon if not the start of the season.
