I assume he’s transferring out due to being recruited over, thus joining one of the deeper teams in the country in UK would make little sense.

Seems like we have several backup 2 guards. It's a starter we need.
If you look at a couple of the guys he’s going for, not all of them are trying to fill a rotation role. Pope clearly wants some depth pieces and that’s ok. The kid that was contacted has a reputation for being one of the more popular guys in the NY area — could make him attractive down the road as development guy. I don’t see him stealing minutes from our rotation guys if this goes any further than kicking tires

You’re not wrong, bidding always plays a part in it. But SGs don’t want to fight for time against guys with the upside that Chandler and Johnson have. I absolutely think both things can be true
Don’t judge just the stats though. A lot of basketball evaluators see big upside. Could be something to swing for, depth piece for now —- much more for later.
Bro that guy shot 10.5 3pt attempts per game… his defensive numbers are abysmal but 41.8% from 3? I know he’s small but that’s a guy that could put up some big numbers as a 6th or 7th man. I hope Pope knows about him
When I look at a shooter, first thing I look at is attempts. If you can hit over 41 percent on over 10 attempts per game, that’s elite as you can get shooting the ball
