Yes! Will be Jake's first match. Very tough bracket at 220. Conant HS sectionals had top 4 guys in the State there. They are all so good at this level...should be exciting!
It looks like Jack Bellizzi beat the Providence freshman phenom Ryan Boersma (5-2) in the 1st round of 3A 220 lbs to advance to the final 8 and now faces Mt Carmel's Nik Mishka.I see Provi’s freshman phenom may get a crack at Mr. Bellizzi in round 2 of 220-lb class. Best of luck to both young men and all the other wrestlers this weekend.

It's hard to tell but that match is probably today sometime.
Well that must put him in the final 4 (that have not lost a match yet). Congrats! He just beat Mishka 8-1! Next match is the
#1 Abraham around 7:30 tonight. So exciting!!
Jake lost to Abraham in the semi-finals 7-3 (Abraham is the favorite 51-0). Jake won another match 14-6 and now wrestles for 3rd Place against Fisher of Yorkville.Any update on how they faired? I am in Ohio so don’t have great access to what went down.
Jake ended the tournament with a 4th Place finish at 220 lbs, he lost to Fisher from Yorkville 4-3.
Congrats to Jake and Maine West on a great year! 220 was just brutal. Good luck at ISU and keep us posted on him. We are all competitive about our teams on this board but in the end we pull for all Illinois kids.Just got back from the closing ceremonies. What a cool experience! Yes, Jake lost a heartbreaker 4-3 in triple overtime to Fisher which placed him 4th! Jake's goal this year was to make it to State for the third time and make the podium. He fulfilled his goal! I am so proud of him and all the 220 wrestlers. All great kids!
