Great Crossing/Scott County kid throwing 93-96 and got up to 98 this summer. Had control issues at times in his career but by all accounts was consistently in the zone this summer. He is set to be a stud at Arkansas and with a few lbs. could definitely get to triple digits very quickly. How in the hell did he not get picked up by UK. They should be embarrassed to let a kid like this leave the state. You don't get 98 mph to come around often.

Looks like he committed to Arkansas in March so he has really progressed in a few years. Guys who are typically hitting mid 90's early in high school will get snatched up quickly if they throw strikes. Good for him.

If you were a home state kid, would you want to go to UK? Think about the past home grown players..... not a good track record. Makes you think what is happening with the staff when your home guys leave.

The kid didn't get offered by UK.

Very inconsistent. Throws hard but struggles finding the zone is probably why he wasn't offered by UK. Arky can afford to take a chance on him. Coach Ming couldnt take that chance being on the warm seat. But it is a pity.

Yes, couldn’t take a chance because this Staff doesn’t know how to take a player and develop them!! Their staff is a joke and Minge is a fraud!

Good enough for top 5 Arkansas but not UK? Come on man…

I’ve seen the kid throw, and it’s throwing not pitching. I’ve also seen the kid hit as many batters as he has struck out batters. I’m not knocking the kid, Hope he does well. Ask yourself why a MLB team didn’t take a chance on a kid throwing 98?

When was the last time you watched him throw? If you watched him in HS did you notice anything about his catcher? He progressed at an incredible rate this summer based on his outings. Last game threw 5 no hit innings, 85 pitches, last pitch 95mph. Oh, and it was against the Midland Braves. He is not "throwing" at this point, he is pitching. Look up a video on PBR Georgia's twitter on him and tell me wat you think of his delivery/mechanics. Effortless at 95 and in the zone.

Yeah I saw him throw in PBR tournament on 6/27 in Louisville. His line...

1.1 innings. 3 hits, 8 runs, 7 earned, 4 base on balls, 3 strike outs.

That's just one game, and like I said I hope he does well at Arky and any pro level when the opportunity is provided. Any kid that can throw 95+ is a real talent. Should UK take a chance on him, I think so but I aint the coach.

Development has been one of the bigger issues under Mingione.

Never seen the kid play. But a worldly difference between the Midland Braves and the Redskins.

Doesn’t UK have a pitching coach? Wouldn’t it be his job to take raw talent and coach him up?
