I think Garrison will continue working on his threes. Kam will be a solid shooter. I think Oweh makes a big jump next year on his shooting since that's his one main drawback as a SG. Trent. Maybe Perry gets his confidence and shot back when he's not tasked with too much too soon. Alvaro, if we get him, will be a sharpshooter.

We'll have shooters.

And how far do we go with that lineup? We wont even threaten an aec title. We will again be playing on Thursday.

We need more. We're getting way outpaced.

Yes, the guy who averaged 16.8 ppg / 4 ast and was All ACC 3rd team is a horrible player who has absolutely no chance at Kentucky.

Of course he has a chance. Just have to hope is a diamond in the rough because we're going to need way more from him to really compete.

Good observation. I think he splits time with Lewis.

Jmo but no way he came here to split time. Looks like we were by far his best suitor and we were also running out of options.

Pope needs to make him watch Mark Sears highlights 24/7 until the season starts. Let's put that 90% FT shooting to work next year!

What other schools were after him?

26 percent three point shooter. Is this one we should be excited about?
I am more interested in his ability to get the team into its offensive sets than how well he shoots the 3. This may come as a shock to you, but scoring isn't your point guard's primary purpose. We have a couple of guards who are supposed to be excellent shooters but they are unable to create off the dribble or run the offense. If your guard isn't able to shoot the 3, the damage is somewhat isolated to the individual; however, if he can't run the offense, it hurts the entire team.

We only have 3 true bigs next year? NO
I’m going on record we NEED a starting center. I hope he improves but I dint see BG as a starting center. Nothing down the stretch of the season shows reliable improving. I would hope either they are looking at Ewin from FSU. A combo of Alvaro at stretch 4 and at the 5 Ewin or Reed Bailey. Bailey could be stretch 5. IMO

I know we have missed on several but this is a decent start today. Got our starting PG

I am happy with this commitment. Good vision, can beat his guy off the dribble and create open shots for our shooters. Presumably he won’t be counted on to go one-on-five and we will have better players around him than at Pitt, so his efficiency will improve.

All of you that are happy with this signing are the same ones that LOVE Brandon garrison and his weak *** game!
Yes, and you are the same one who was so certain that the team would have a massive decrease in performance without Cal. You were wrong then and you are wrong now. According to 247Sports, his transfer ranking is 95 and 92 as a prospect so don't let those numbers get in the way of your agenda.

One of the worst posters all makes another bad. This is the guy that complained all year the Great Osobor was the big missing piece.
I'll say it again.

A lot of you are just like Calipari, just want to recruit the top guys on the ranking charts and throw it together and make it work out. Disgusting.

Or you know they could just be people that are looking at the remaining final four teams, looking at our team and realizing we probably need wayyyy more talent to get where we need to be.

#20 ranked portal player and third team all ACC. Far from a bad player.
Right, they say we need too portal guys and we get one and now they are upset. Hard to understand sometimes. This is a true PG who can score just doesn’t shoot the 3, that works with the team pope is building.

Bailey is not a great defender.

actually like this guy over the princeton guy
seems much quicker and pass first instead of shot firrst
but I do hope he is a better shooter than the kid from Georgia that ccc brought in
now to add a couple of scorers at the forward & guard spot + center that can block some shots

Noah is too small and not strong enough to play the 4 IMO. Only 6’5 he will get abused down low.
Yeah, the height worries me but Pope's talk of him adding 15 pounds of muscle along with his good rebounding makes me wonder if Pope wants to play him at the 4 at least some. I just wonder how well he can defend as a 4.

Yes! 6 assists and 2 steals a game with 89% free throw percentage. That tells me what I need to know. He is a facilitator and defender. We don’t need him to be the scorer and at least he will hit free throws.

I know everyone is harping on the shooting numbers. I admit that I have not watched a lot of Pitt basketball (or at all) but they were a bad team in a poor conference. Pitt was ranked 62nd on Kenpom with the 52nd ranked offense.

Sometimes low shooting numbers can be a reflection of the overall team offense. If he rarely got good looks his numbers would be at the mercy of that.

Also I note he’s an 89% free throw shooter (and he draws a LOT of fouls). That to me says it’s not a flawed form issue. Along with his 35% clip from three his freshman year, my overall impression is that I’m confident playing in Pope’s system will bring him up to an average shooter.

Aside from shooting, he looks like a strong guard that can create offense both for himself and others. Good rebounding numbers for a guard. If we surround him with shooters he and Oweh can both slice and dice some defenses. Needs to be better on defense but has size at his position.

Edit: I also see that he recorded a triple double last year. Pretty good.

Not sure why people are knocking this commitment. He’s as good as any other point guard in the portal. 88% free throw shooter is all I needed to see. He’ll get open looks in Pope’s offense that he’s rarely had in his career. And he can defend? He’s a take.
