Jalen Hurts had a great NFL combine...Don't be surprised if he goes in the 1st Round

Man I would be blown away. Surely they watch film on the guy staring down receivers and never checking down or going through his reads. It only gets faster in the nfl, so how are you gonna convince me you can fix it then. I’m just glad my boys have Dak and aren’t looking at him.

I've read he did have a good combine and improved his draft status, but the writer said he moved form a fiffth or sixth round pick to a second, possibly third round pick. I don't see him going in the first round, but I think someone's going to be very happy to get him when he does get the call.

come on there is no way Hurts can go in the 1st round. Probably not the 2nd round either.

Hurts will probably be a 3rd or 4th round pick. I can see Jalen having a similar career that Chase Daniel and AJ McCarron have had. 2nd team quarterback for several years.

Jalen was very well served moving to OU. He'd have been a third day guy had he stayed in Tuscaloosa, most likely. Maybe not even that.

He's improved a whole lot of details in his throwing fundamentals. I personally think he still needs to tighten his motion a little. But I also think that OU had OL problems in 2019, particularly at tackle. If he'd have had better pass protection, he'd have looked better, and had fewer fumbles.

Fact is that his running ability was a big factor in the offensive production, and he caused him to be more beat up than he would have been with a better running game that didn't rely on his rushing numbers. He took too many rushing hits. He was throwing it pretty good early, before the attrition kicked in. Certainly part of that, was some slow coverage reads, and pulling it down a little early. But there were a whole lot of read plays, where the defense dictated that he keep. And he took punishment like few quarterbacks in OU history.

Translation: he's better than he looked in the last half of the season.

Jalen does not seem to make good decisions while under pressure, fails to see the entire field at times, fails to connect on the deep ball, and has fumbling issues. I just can not see him succeeding in the NFL.

The Raiders who really like Jalen have two first round picks.

And they just picked up a QB in free agency. Not going to happen, at least not in the first round. I wish him well and I hope he goes high, but my best guess is he's picked late the 2nd day at best. Even at that, it will be a good reflection on Riley and further encourage QBs that OU is the place to be. As Plaino said, his time at OU has greatly elevated his draft status.

That isn't going to happen. They just signed Marcus Mariota and they already have Derek Carr. I love what Jalen did for the Sooners this year. I even liked Jalen when he played at Bama and I hate Bama. Jalen seems to be a great person and he has good talent, just not elite talent. I see him going in the 3rd or 4th round and hopefully making an NFL team as a back up. I see his career being similar to Landry Jones, Chase Daniel and or A.J. McCarron. If he can have the kind of NFL careers those three have had, he'll make a lot of money.

My sentiments exactly. Not many Sooners tearing it up in the NFL lately, where is all that so called talent we have been producing on the offensive side of the ball, how are they doing in the No Fun League?
Hurts has as good a chance as any I guess.

Hurts needs to go to a team with an established starting QB so he can be given time to develop. By NFL standards, he's has to be regarded as a project player at this time.
