Which one would you take? I guess if I had to choose I would take Mariota simply because its just a matter of time before Jameis does something really stupid to keep him from playing.

You don't agree these are going to be the top 2 quarterbacks taken? Maybe you are right. Who do you feel is better in this class?

I would take Marcus just be cause he isn't trouble like Jameis is. Jameis will be another Johnny football.

There is a huge difference between Winston and manziel; Winston has pro level talent in my opinion. However I would agree they are similar when it comes to what is between their ears. I would pass on both and may regret it but would like to think my pick over them would be a solid pick for the next decade

You asked who we'd take between the two, and I wouldn't want either of them. If I was an NFL team in need of a QB I'd probably trade for one before taking one of these two. If I had to draft a QB I'd try to find a Russell Wilson or Kirk Cousins in the 3rd or 4th rounds (2012), or a Tom Brady in the 6th (2000).

Just because they might appear to be the best of this year's class, doesn't mean they are.

Thats definitely not going to happen. Both will more than likely be first rounders.

I agree with you. I think they both might be decent NFL quarterbacks. But I don't think either will be pro bowl types. Where both will be taken, that will be expected. There was a speculation on a website a month ago, that Chip going to try to move up to take Marcus. If that were to happen, then he might end up being a pretty good quarterback. Nick Foles has looked pretty good mostly, playing in that offense. Put Marriota with his old coach, and that might be interesting. I believe Marcus is better than Foles.

I think Winston might be as good as Daunte Culpepper. DC was an occasionally spectacular quarterback, but he never quite got his team over the hump. Don't remember any Super Bowl appearances, much less wins. Physically, they are similar. But Culpepper had less baggage. I don't think Jameis will be as bad as say Vince Young. Similar physical ability. But Winston is football smart.

But in attitude, he's just a bigger version of Manziel. That hasn't worked out too well so far. And Manziel went to a team that really needed a quarterback. I wouldn't put franchise crippling money into either of them.

But BW is right. Somebody will.

Probably, yet with the question that was posed by you, I'd still take neither of them.

Me too. I'd trade the pick. JW has undeniable talent, but is too big a risk, and now they're saying he has shoulder issues on top of his personal baggage. I'm not sold on Mariota being good enough to start in the NFL.

Marriota to the Eagles could be interesting, yet I still don't see it winning a Super Bowl. I don't think the system can do it against the best defenses in the NFL.

Manziel might actually grow up, I don't think Winston knows what that means.

JW already has the football knowledge of a 2-3 year pro. Mix that with a skill set better suited for the NFL, not really a decision for me. If you associate JW with being unintelligent football wise based off his off the field decisions, you don't really know anything about him.

I would rather roll the dice on his off the field concerns vs. drafting a QB that is more of a project (Mariota). There is a 99% chance he goes to the Bucs, should be a great fit with Dirk Koetter as OC there. He will have young talent at WR too.

I do have this prediction. I don't know who it would or will be, but I believe that neither Jameis nor Marcus will be the best quarterback to come from this class. Now some classes, it would be hard to determine. Who was the best quarterback in the class of 2003? First rounder and Heisman winner Carson Palmer? Or undrafted and frequent object of scorn, but pretty effective Tony Romo?

But I don't think either of Winston or Marriota will be great NFL quarterbacks. Both had the luxury of being quarterbacks of incredibly talented offenses, which limited the ability of defenses to defend them in a way they would other quarterbacks. Oregon exposed Jameis in a way that clues tended to foretell all season. Then Ohio State did the same to the less pro ready Marcus.

NFL defenses will be even tougher on both. If I were in the top two or three places in this draft, I'd trade down.

Neither is a prolific QB prospect for the NFL, at least not a first rounder. These two have talent, but not early first round potential.....not like a Luck or Manning.
I would either trade or draft the best non-QB available.
