Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't the COA count for all students, not just athletes? Athletes only got tuition whereas a student, via a loan, would get tuition reimbursement and the university's COA estimate. If this is true, then it affects the budget for all students, not just the players. Honestly, I don't want players coming based on who is giving them more money. Louisville is more expensive to live in than Lexington, in general, btw.

A couple thousand a year extra from TU or Transfer U might come in handy until you make your move, IF it happens, huh.
All legal, hard to say anyone should turn it down, right mitch?
People just like to blame Barnhart.Pardon my ignorance, but how is Mitch responsible for the COA that the entire university sets? Do you know that Barnhart didn't go to the board of directors (or whoever) and asked them to reassess the number and raise it so that we can be more competitive with someone like Alabama? You want to blame Barnhart, but I really doubt that he has any control over it.
It does piss me off that our COA is supposedly so much lower than other SEC schools. There is a 0% chance it costs more to live in Starkville than Lexington.
You may jest, but average distance traveled from home is a factor in COA calculations...Having to drive two or three hours to civilization and back when you need something adds up.

So you are saying this is like the ridiculous support that football got for ten years, he just can't do anything about it?
Then why did he get the big raise BEFORE anything was done for it?
Now you are saying there isn't anything he can do about this either?
Then why did he just get another huge raise?
Football is still the money cow, even if most of it comes from the other SEC schools that support it------about time UK got in the act, this looks like a money maker to me, another $170,000 per year for football when we throw more than that at mitch in raises and literally millions at our coaches. The rest of the money spent on the other sports would also make money from the fans of those sports, IMO.
How much publicity and probably donations will our new WORLD record holder in the 100 meter dash bring in for UK? While basketball may not make money (yet, probably getting close, Thug U does and I thought they were the football state) it could certainly cut the deficit down a great deal, still money in the bank.
