I have a close friend that played @ Trinity, he's a former All City performer. I value his opinion greatly. I asked him where he'd rank Quick in terms of all time Trinity prospects he'd seen. He placed him #1.
Which brings me to this bizarre career we've witnessed. A couple off field problems, a case of being buried on a deep depth chart his FR year. With that, came drops, and a couple of blown opportunities, though they were minimal.
He did have a big PR for a TD I believe in a big game vs UCF, but for the most part was quiet his FR year.
His So year his role expanded and he played better. He was up and down, the competition out of conference wasn't much. He was on the wrong end of a key ST play vs UVA. I believe he was suspended for a big game.
Now he we are in year three. A freak injury cost him a few games. Big game on big stage @ FSU. Still a few drops here and there. At times pulls a disappearing act - like today.
Yet there he is making the biggest play of the game being on time for the tackle on ST and helping turn the game.
So what do we make of this career? Is it time to just forget the lofty hopes of being a go-to-guy? Should we just accept him as a big play threat that can burn a team and take it to the house.
I just don't know what to make of him. I know a ton of posters know more about him than I ever would. I'm happy he is on this team and has made some plays in his career. Today's play was big, he played a key role in assuring bowl eligibility. I was just hoping he'd be an 8 catch per game guy. I know 4 catches per game is a good production.
I'm not trying to rail on him. He's helped us win some games and I am pulling for him.
Thoughts?
