Are any of these guys enrolled anywhere?
Javon tweeted last night about doing homework, so he's somewhere. I have a suspicion that he went prep school route rather than juco.
REALLY hope you are right about prep school. This guy's tape was off the charts and we could really use him at NG
Yeah, me too.REALLY hope you are right about prep school. This guy's tape was off the charts and we could really use him at NG
I loved UK's recruiting class last year but Provitt was one of the recruits I was most excited about. I will be extremely pumped if UK can still get 4 years out of him. Hope he went the prep route.Javon tweeted last night about doing homework, so he's somewhere. I have a suspicion that he went prep school route rather than juco.
Gosier went the Prep school route.
Any way this guy could be getting his academics squared away to enroll in UK in Jan? Could he be retaking his ACT or boosting his GPA?
Is Gosier enrolled in JUCO and where is Livingston? TIA.
I think some try taking online classes, but those have to approved by the clearinghouse. I don't know how that effects their eligiblity clock. If it doesn't start it it actually would be a good route to take. But I think it would probably start the clock. Wish these kids would figure it out in 9th grade instead of 11th grade they need decent grades. But they don't.
I don't. The Gosier family is from my hometown, only reason I know about him. Thanks, for the feedback. Do you happen to know if Provitt went prep school?

That's still the plan!Is he going to try to come to UK next year?
Interesting that the coach who Tweeted his coming to Lackawanna on Twitter then deleted that account but is still coaching there. Screech says on Facebook this week he is in college and said a professor complimented him on a paper he turned in. The girl on his Twitter page he has previously identified as his GF says she attends Kent State. They made a hilarious rap video together. Obviously some effort has been made to keep his whereabouts low on the radar while he gets his grades, so I will respect his wishes. But it's not too hard to locate him.
Do you get schollys to juco? I could see just staying close home if money was the deciding factor. I thought they helped with aid and grants but I would think the student would still be paying out of pocket for some stuff.

Stoops' 2015 class is better than the press acknowledged. A case where class rankings mis-stated the impact of our class. People focused on who we didn't sign, rather than who we did sign. Westry and Conrad will be All SEC by 2016, and 2 of our most important recruits in many years. Although GAA is struggling as an inexperienced tackle now, he will eventually become an all SEC guard. Daniel, Jones, Allen, Brown, Walker, Baity, King, Richardson, Greenwood solid additions. Stenberg and Wolfe have a chance to be good. I doubt Provitt and Gossier will make it to campus, but you never know. They took Provitt as a 1 technique player, to develop behind Elam. If they can hang onto Kobe Smith, they will have that job covered for now. Smith is very good, will probably not need a redshirt.I loved UK's recruiting class last year but Provitt was one of the recruits I was most excited about. Good analysis. This is why commitments have been taken from Kobe Smith, Kordell Looney, Ja'Quize Cross in 2016. Smith will become a dominant player for Kentucky. Looney will need a redshirt, and Cross falls a little more under the developmental category. Stoops knows that games are won at the line of scrimmage, and I only expect his recruiting reach to grow now. Kentucky's 2016 class is almost full, but most of the remaining scholarships will probably get spent on the defense. The only place the 2015 class is lacking and where the decommits really hurt was the Dline down linemen. Provitt, Strowbridge, and Hamilton would be very valuable in the next couple years. As it is we are trying to load up on quality Dlinemen to finish this class but those three would have been very valuable next year and the year after
Look at history. When players fail to qualify in the same year they sign, how often do they make it to campus later? Donte Rumph was a great story, but an exception. Mychal Bailey, Moncell Allen, Alvonte Bell also exceptions. You might be able to name others, but it usually doesn't work. Emmanual Harrell, Delaine Means, Mike Cross, Jamaal Jackson, Demetrius Goode, LaShun Watson, Justin Bean, Demetri Merritt, Tim McAdoo, Bubba Tandy, David Washington, Justin Day among the names who signed then never made it to campus. In this specific case, Gossier and Provitt have already been recruited over, with Dakota Holtzclaw, Kayaune Ross, Kobe Smith. I don't think Stoops needs Gossier now. Provitt remains an interesting player, but didn't get other P5 offers because no 1 thought he could qualify.BD, why do you doubt Provitt/Gosier will make it to campus?

Provitt was signed because a couple of other defensive prospects decommitted. There was never a lot of confidence that he would make it, but it was a reasonable risk to take under the circumstances. If Provitt can make it now, they take him. Guys like Provitt who can play a 1 technique with power and leverage in the SEC are rare. They have Elam and Kobe Smith, but they would surely take Provitt if he can do the work. Problem is, he probably can't do the work. It will be great if he can do it though. I doubt they need Gossier now. Why take another 2 year guy when they have Ross coming? They already have so many 4 year receivers with equal or better talent. From what I hear, Richardson, Greenwood, Holtzclaw and Ross are very good. Bone, Johnson, and Badet are sophomores, Snodgrass still a freshman. They can still use more receivers, but their recruiting pull is on the rise and Mainord will take more 4 year players like Greenwood and Richardson who can redshirt.Very familiar with the history but I don't think this coach would've signed these 2 unless he thought both could make it. I don't know much about Gosier(he did get late offers from Clemson and WVU BTW) other than he's big and has a basketball background but Provitt is somebody who can help in a year or 2. That they're in prep school tells me they could be here sooner rather than later.
If what has been stated in this thread is correct and I believe it is considering the source, Gosier will be a 4 year guy because he is in prep school. If Provitt can make it, they take him. I don't have inside information. I look at the roster and see the obvious needs. Mainord is a good talent evaluator. If he wants Gossier, he has a reason. They may want to establish a stronger recruiting track record in south Florida. But when I look at the roster, I see lots of good young receivers, none are seniors. Only 2 seniors started against Missouri on our entire offense, Swindle and West. Both may have just lost their starting jobs to sophomores. Our offense is still very young. But I see 7 seniors starting on our defense. So far, 11 of our 2016 commitments are offensive players, 10 are defense. Out of 4 commitments for 2017, 3 are offense. So I figure we will see a future emphasis on recruiting defensive players, especially since Stoops' background is defense. That makes sense to me. Maybe I will be wrong. It wouldn't be the 1st time. But if Gosier is in prep school he'll be a 4 year player. Elsewhere iin this thread Kengra Daniel's dad who knows the Gosier family, says the plan is for him to be here next year. Maybe UK's plan is to move him TE after a RS year. I don't know if he's a player or not but Stoops must feel he is or he wouldn't have signed him.
