So now reaction time means one has to not only get a takedown but keep the guy from being able to stand back up for several seconds.
We should just go back to 2022 or whatever it was where I never heard of reaction time. Make it 3 points if contact and move on, even if someone gets to rear standing and the other guy rolls.
Figs seemed to stop giving a hoot in his second round match last year when Peterson pinned him then he got stomped in his first consci match. Facundo doesn't look like he regressed. Ryder is an unknown.
DT's team had a good tournament last year. It will be interesting watching them this year.
Kind of tough to compare Cael and his 18 seasons of head coaching and DT with one. I think Taylor is going to be great and Oklahoma St is going to be too much for most anybody else to be able to deal with, except for PSU and maybe Ryan. We will see.
I posted a few years back that there was a reason for the move to no reaction time and it wouldn't take very long to understand the reason for it. The easiest way to deal with the behind standing situation is the hands. If you roll through, don't touch the mat with your hands. Hands touch it is a TD.
The BS they are calling now, Caliendo looked like he repositioned himself 3 times before coming up and out, can't be allowed to stand.
Giving officials more subjectivity in their calls is just never a good idea.
It would be nice if the camera wasn't focused on the coaches when scoring is happening! When Blaze got his reverse the camera was showing TNT I believe.

Yeah my reaction was "oh there's Brands, ok back to the match wtf are you doing get off the coaches i dont care about them and then the reversal. I was pissed! It took them 5 sec to focus in on brands and then they left it there, smh!
I may be completely off my rocker (confirmed by everyone who knows me)....but I think Jax has his redshirt preserved. Jax gave up 3 takedowns to a true freshman who couldn't take him down in the state championship 10 months ago. If I am DT.....I keep him in redshirt. He can be a 4 timer....but maybe not this year. With Endene out....I think they beat Iowa anyway. Also......if Ryder's shoulder keeps popping out....he is in trouble. Did PSU coaches know this was an issue when they brought Rocco in? Just my thoughts.
