i feel like Jax is headed to 141.... next year they will have Jayden Raney @ 133, Jax 141 and Jordy Raney at 149.... that will be tough!
Iām totally in favor of them burning a year of his eligibility when they donāt have a title shot.

Exactly.... and with DUKE moving up next year... the combo of Kasak, Duke, and Mitch may be 3 undefeated wrestlers in a row.
Next year, Luke, Marcus, Ono, SVN, Kasak, Duke, Mitch, Rocco, Josh, Cole..... We could be talking NC contenders in every weight class. That is nuts!
I will tell you this, next year (26/27) we lose Levi and gain Ono. We will be a terror once again.

With Henckel (people keep forgetting about him) replacing Haines at 174 if Duke takes a redshirt. This season has just begun but next season will most likely be even stronger (crazy to say).
Minneapolis ā28 is going to be an insane ticket. Hell, St Louis might be nearly as good because Okie St. is clearly ahead of schedule.
Wrestle stat already has him at number one, Byrd has dropped 6 spots... 
Would give them the potential for five finalists this year (125, 133, 141, 157, 165). Still would feel like a waste to wrestle him this season but maybe DT believes that Ryder and Merrill might have the potential to be finalists as well or at least high AAs.
If we're talking the 2025-26 season, gotta believe Jax would go at 133, where Figueroa has lost a couple matches early on. Doesn't make much sense to rush Forrest onto the roster only to slot in at 141 to replace Vega, who has looked the part so far.
This weekend should have disabused him of those notions.
The big winner is everybody else who would've been in his bracket at Hershey.

Vega is legit and Lockett is only going to get better 65 was clearly Mitch #1 and Caliendo a distant #2 but the clear #2. I dont think Lockett will challenge mitch but the race for #2 is on! I am not as sold on Robideau yet... but still this is a legit roster and ahead of schedule!
its way early and its not like Ryder was blown out. He was in some close matches with some national contenders right out the gate! Ryder will continue to get better... and i would still not be shocked if he found a way to AA this season!

Iowa fans are the same as we know. Was telling a few this weekend that the reason people hate on Iowa isn't because Tom and Terry it's because the way the fans act and that started way back. And now people are just starting to dislike Penn St fans for those same reasons. Iowa fans think wrestling revolves around Iowa City and now it's happening with Penn st.
I put it on Oklahoma st boards long ago and it was immediately deleted. Then we were finally allowed to discuss it after a few days. Go look around it's there. I don't do podcasts anymore or have social media I just use forums . If I really cared about getting credit for it I would still be on social media but I don't care like that just letting my message board folks know it's old news

Way too early to tell with Ryder and Merrill, but I bet that DT has whatever roster holes filled by NCAAs in 2028, so whomever isn't cutting it will likely be replaced.

I have been banging that 2028 is the year drum for a while. I think that year we would be replacing Ono, messenbrink, Van Ness. I'm actually very excited for that year. As much fun as it is watching Penn State dominate I would enjoy thoroughly a tight team race where Friday night at nationals has direct implications on the winner.
Bo Basset needs to do the same. He is 2 months older than Marcus blaze. He is the same age I was the first time I saw the desert on deployment. He is older than the majority of college freshman and military enlistees. There is no use for him wrestling highschool this season. If anything, wrestling some of the lesser quality highschool guys be faced puts him at a disproportionate risk of injury. Generally, when the talent gap widens injury risk increases. If im Va tech I'm pushing for it.

Have you looked at the number of titles PSU has won the last 14 years and notice how many world team members this year have an affiliation with PSU? Unlike Iowa of years past, right now wrestling does revolve around PSU. That's the ****** truth, like it or not.
Blaze has at least 2 wins against him. But, you know, Penn State recruits always have the gap narrowed against them
Blaze/Jax might end up being Dake/Taylorish in terms of a style matchup
12 actually and yes I know that without looking. And this year Penn St had 15 of the 30 world team spots at u20, U23 and SR this year I believe. The point was it's the way the fans act that causes the nation to hate on a team not the staff or the results on the mat.
