If you’re Jax Forrest, how tempted are you to move to Stillwater for your senior year of high school? You have to figure he’ll be down there training up until Senior Worlds and taking Bishop McCort classes online. Is it easier to transfer to Stillwater High to finish?

Training in Johnstown with Bishop McCort, Young Guns, and the Compound is about as good a training situation as a high schooler can get, but it ain’t Stillwater, the Cowboy RTC, and Oklahoma State. Staying in PA for seven months rather than spending those seven months with Taylor, Fix, RBY, etc - how much will this delay his development? What are the chances he makes the move to Stillwater to train full-time with Cowboy RTC and is done with wrestling high schoolers?

Observation: Interesting choice for its own thread on a PSU board.

Or just make a 90 min drive to that other RTC.

He's fine. He takes mostly online classes, so he'll be in stillwater plenty. High school athletes can't practice with the RTC when they are in their "high school" season, so no need to move full time when he has the best combination of training situation, schedule and team in high school.

And the kid has goals. Winning Ironman, PIAA is a big deal.

We’re not the Iowa fans/board - we can talk about relevant wrestling things, can’t we? We don’t have to only be negative or throw shade at other school’s wrestlers. Another school’s wrestler’s success doesn’t take anything away from PSU. Jax goes to a PA high school, everybody on this board knows who he is, and he just made the US World team as a rising high school senior. Considering the high end talent that PSU is bringing in every year, you don’t think this topic is applicable to PSU? Additionally, if Jax stays in PA is he likely to move up to 139. If so, does that squeeze PSU commit Herring out of the BMc lineup?

He can't train at Cowboy RTC in season but can train at Coleman Scott's club. Much like how Nick Lee and Levi Haines trained at M2.

Regardless, I doubt he takes the Nick Lee Year.

They're not sitting Herring and ceding the team title to Faith Christian. If Forrest goes 139, then Herring 145 + Bassett 152.

Coleman doesn't have a club. He only runs camps there. The currently existing CWC will use his facilities occasionally. But that club operates out of the wrestling room.

Coleman has NO connection to the program. Not in any way. They are not complete enemies, but Coleman has no love lost for the current regime.

Where does Jackson Butler fit in? Or, is he the odd man out again. Is Owen McMullen a ‘25 or ‘26?

About Us | The Farm Wrestling Camp
"Camp", "Club"... I don't know. The front page of the website reads "By Coleman Scott, The Farm".
The "About Us" text reads:
"Step into The Farm, Oklahoma’s premier destination for elite wrestling training. Led by Olympic medalist and NCAA champion Coleman Scott, our state-of-the-art facility is designed to develop wrestlers of all ages and skill levels, fostering excellence both on and off the mat."
It's an address way out in the country from Stillwater (that's saying something in Oklahoma), and the outside photo looks like it was recently built.
And there are photos posted of Wyatt Hendrickson thanking him for stopping by for training sessions.
Like I said, I don't know. Potayto, potahto.

Butler is definitely at greatest risk of getting squeezed, though one spot opened with Magro graduating.

They might make room for him anyway. There are so few non-McCort legit finalist contenders in the AA 133-160 range: Harer, Baum, Hohman, Wagner. Bachmann and Music if they move up. Milheim if he doesn't move up. Otherwise a bunch of "somebody's gotta make the finals" type guys. Point being, little risk in McCort moving guys up even 2 weights to snag some extra points in the team race.

McMullen is 2026.

DT and Co. are keeping this as nice as they can. But Coleman is no friend to the program.

What he's building is a money maker though, so the okiest guys will be going through there as camp counselors. But until Coleman is ready to mend the relationship - it's a separate entity. Coleman also has immense respect for the CWC and its operators. He doesn't want to run a club and take away from what they're doing and have built.

Yes, I thought that was a given if Jax was going to be able to train there as El Jefe suggested, hence my comments. Then I think we're all in agreement that, although unlikely, it is a possibility. Cool.

no. What i'm saying is - it's NOT a possibility.

There is no "train with coleman scott" - because that's not how his operation is running. And also, there is no relationship between DT/Coleman.

And he's definitely not going to go to stillwater high school when McCort has better partners, team and schedule at McCort.

Pretty sure Jax stated in an interview, maybe on Bashmania that he wants to wrestle with his little brother. Who will be a freshman this year. Supposedly the starter at 113.
