I missed the first part of the game so I didn't get to see him play. Did he reinjure his wrist or did Pope just play him a few minutes to get him back in the mix?

He needs to sit until the NCAAT first round game and frankly most likely we’ll be able to steal even that first round game without him. Then we’ll have him when we really need him. For the five games we really really need him. Or at least we’ll have our best chance of having him then.

Pope didn’t listen to that advice so far (not that I had any way of telling him). And look where it’s gotten us. I just hope his intuition will somehow guide him into making that same decision on his own from here forward, before we wind up with even another setback in exchange for a questionable advantage in a game that means absolutely nothing in comparison to what those final five or six could mean if we get everybody as close to healthy as possible.

Pope saying today that Jaxson came out of that game “not so great”. Pope said Amari has ankle injury but had a pretty good day of practice yesterday and they will know more today.

This is the latest as of mid-afternoon on 2/28. When the injury report comes out later today, we might know a bit more, but I'll bet it will say something like probable. When the report comes out tomorrow, we'll have a much better idea.

Let's say UK listens to your advice doctor, and he doesn't play until the 2nd round of the NCAA. Then he comes out, plays a half and the wrist reacts the same way and he's sitting again. What armchair theatrics will you provide then? There are no agendas here, no draft protections. They tried to see how the wrist would react in real game action and didn't react well so we're back to where we were. There were no guarantees. Like Butler's injury, this isn't a definitive time-table injury.

I'll give the nod to the UK sports medicine team over a message post poster but that's just me.

Not sure if serious.

Your point is that you can imagine a scenario where giving our hurt star player time to heal doesn’t actually help.

Imagine away.

But that’s one of the stupidest takes I’ve ever heard in my life.

since we don’t know the conversations that happened between Pope, the medical staff, and Robinson that led to their decision for him to at least try it Wednesday to see how the wrist would react then again I’ll take their knowledge and decision-making over random message poster who only assumes the way to heal from injury is just rest.

Injury recovery isn’t always black and white. Most injuries, sure you rest them until you feel better but Robinson’s injury seems unique.

Why in the world would it say "Probable" when everything is pointing to him being out for at least the next 3 games?

Was he wearing anything on it when he was playing? I didn’t notice. Tape? Some kind of wrist wrap? Anything to still have range of motion but some stabilization?

I said it would say "something like probable". I was just giving an example of what it could be.

Plus not everything was pointing to that at the time I posted it. Pope had only given a vague update.

He needs to just play through it. It’s not getting better before the season ends. He played well. Tomorrow imo is the biggest home game since maybe UNC 2012.
He didn’t go through practice today so I doubt he plays tomorrow

Have you ever tried to play basketball in his current condition? Actually, you can't answer the question because you don't know how much mobility he has with that hand or how much pain it causes him. It's not just a matter of having the pain tolerance to try to take a shot; if he isn't healthy enough to help the team then his presence in the game can only hurt the team, not help.

Strack that plays for the Lady Cats is playing with a full brace on her shooting hand and scoring at will. I guess women are tougher than men.
In some ways. But not all ways. For example, my wife had two kids come through with no drugs. Probably more painful than I could imagine. On the other hand, the dog stepped on her toe and she whined non stop about it for like three weeks until I made her go to doc and it was clear. Can’t understand that?

I have to admit that my perception of Jaxson is that he is fragile. Great player when his shot is falling but in no way ready for the NBA level of toughness.
And that would be both mentally and physically. Awhile back there was an article on Jaxon and his mother and his aunt pretty much say that . Ironically both of them were hardnosed and scrappy when they played. At least that’s what they implied in the article. They said they had tried to bring out his “toughness “ pretty much his whole career.

I don’t know how bad he’s really hurt so my opinion is just on what I see.

And what I see is a guy that just won’t tough it out.

Now, if it’s a Vanderbilt situation where it’s far worse than we know then I can accept it.

But if he’s just sore and doesn’t want to play through it then that’s different.

In my opinion it's not that big of a game at all. It's a great opportunity and I look forward to watching it but if we lose it's not that big of a deal, we're playing the number one team in the country who's on a roll and we have health issues.

Some of these comments really piss me off. If you think Jax or any of our kids with injuries are not dying to get back out on the court, you are c r a z y. And especially at this juncture of the season. Every one of our players lives for this moment. To think he is afraid of reinjury or too fragile to play is completely and utterly foolish. These guys didn't come here, put their heart and soul into the season to sit out at the end. Why would anyone think that??

As long as Butler is playing. If we can get Brea going from outside, that will offset Jax not being able to go
Hoping for another big showing from one or both of the Kentucky kids too. Hopefully the come to play at home like they did against Tennessee to make it so Auburn still hasn't won at Rupp in their lifetime.
