Have you ever tried to play basketball in his current condition? Actually, you can't answer the question because you don't know how much mobility he has with that hand or how much pain it causes him. It's not just a matter of having the pain tolerance to try to take a shot; if he isn't healthy enough to help the team then his presence in the game can only hurt the team, not help.
He played pretty well the other night. Bring him in the second half when everyone is gassed

I'm glad they're sitting Robinson. LSU is the only "must-win" game left, and that's only if you want to maintain the 3 seed line.

We're probably a 5 seed at worst, and a 4 seed is probable if we lose to both Auburn/Missouri.

I just want a healthy roster going into March.

The days of playing through nagging injuries is over unless your tough like Butler. Not a lot of tough ones left in the game.

Unfortunately I will have to agree that JR is not hard nosed physically or mentally, and sometimes that mental part is far harder to struggle through. Practice injuries happen all the time and sometimes those come connected with words like knee, ankle, shoulder, surgery, and season ending. Comparing Robinsons injury to Kerr, Andrew or LB is kinda a normal thing for fans to do but it's both pointless and inaccurate.

Best thing I can say is wish that hadn't happened, heal soon and hope he can be back sometime in this season.

Carr has played through nagging injury this year. While that snake Sharpe was sitting out healthy, we had Tyty and Grady playing through nagging injury. Jaxson has an injured shooting wrist and he's not particularly valuable aside from his shooting/scoring. He had some wild shots in that game and he probably had some swelling happening, I'd have to guess, if they shut him down and half and are keeping him out. Where do you get off sitting on your sofa and questioning players' toughness?

Matt Jones just said the scuttlebutt is he's done...the doctors are recommending surgery...he's gonna go out of state to a wrist specialist to see if he can play through it.

We can't make a deep run without him. That would just suck man.

You can see injury status for all teams here ... some schools have a large number of players out, like Kansas/Bama, fwiw.
Interesting stuff !!

That would be tough news. Sooner or later decisions have to be made about effectiveness and really the future of JR. Seeing an out of state specialist for a fourth opinion is kinda telling. Atlanta maybe?

I just gotta say, you have no idea what his injury even is, and you don’t know him personally at all, so where the hell do you get off saying he isn’t hard nosed physically or mentally? If the rumors are true and doctors are recommending surgery, then he was hard nosed to even try to play against Oklahoma.

Respectfully, you need to watch your mouth when talking about people you don’t know at all.

Not a surprise. People on here questioning a players toughness are silly to me though. We don't know the pain the guy is in.

I agree with the other poster that our ceiling is obviously lower without him n ncaa. This always felt like a sweet 16 type team to me anyways. If they achieve that without JR, kudos.

I really wish we had gotten Jasper Johnson to reclassify. He would have given us great depth and also given him a chance to gain some valuable experience.

Team is cooked without Jaxson. Sweet 16 at best. Just not good enough offense.

Heck, the other night, he scored 7 points in 12 minutes.

I see us having trouble beating a 5 or 6 seed in the R32 without him tbh.

Could be a RD1 exit too, if the Cats fall to a 4 or 5. They would be playing a near equal team in round 2, but there's a HUGE difference between 12/13 seeds and 14-seeds. Have to stay on that 3-line, which won't happen if they lose to Auburn and Missouri.

We will not fall off the 3 line if we lose to them both IMO

Just can’t lose to LSU and gotta win 1 game in the SECT and they’re firmly a 3

It just sucks that we can never have a fully healthy roster, ever.

Yup. We have this with JR and 2015 with poy and 2014 with wcs and 2003 with Bogans and 1997 with DA and on and on back n history.

I know every team has injuries but UK seems to have a lot of unfortunate key ones n years they could have done well or almost 100% won title if said injury didn't occur (1997, 2014 and 2015 are clear ones in that category to me).

Bracket rules will also dictate some of this too. It's very likely Kentucky ends up a 4-seed. Especially given the SEC is likely to have TWO 2-seeds.

If Missouri wins 2 of 3, or 3 of 3, including a win over UK, they would also have 8 or 9 QUAD 1 wins, and a flat out better resume than Kentucky given the computer sites. They would move onto a 3-seed before UK.

If Jaxon is out they can drop us. They take injuries into consideration for seeding, but if the player is not coming back then they will not give an injury leniency.

Our best win would be better than their best win

Our worst loss, would be worse than their worst loss. They have all QUAD 1 losses.
They would be 2 or 3 games better in the same league.
They would win the head-to-head.

They would be seeded ahead of Kentucky, IMO. Especially if we get dinged a seed line because of Jaxson being out.

I'm not sure how this is any different than the news we had last week. Everyone knows that Jaxson has the opportunity to have surgery. They have been hoping he would play through it regardless. Multiple doctors have already told him that he can play. It's a matter of pain threshold right now. So Matt Jones is offering us nothing new.

Exactly. I read somewhere that we can't play either the Friday or Thursday games, I don't remember which, because of Rupp being a site. That's going to factor into where we can go and be seeded.

This is what was said on KSR Sources Say as well and they checked it with Bart Torvik. Idk where people are coming up with the “you have to beat Auburn or Missouri “ to be a 3-seed thing.

I think the part about a outside specialist is new

Get lost with bully mentality. Bill doesn't need to "watch his mouth". You should watch your's, though, with the way you just talked to Bill. If you don't like someone's comments, MOVE ALONG. But you do not, and will not, tell others what they can or cannot say.
I will say whatever the hell I want and you can move your *** along too if you don’t like what I said to your boyfriend. Take your own advice boomer

And equally respectfully as I have been reminded this is a basketball discussion board and throughout the season Robinson has NOT, I repeat NOT been aggressive. He has not enjoyed physical play, and yes the mental part of an injury is often the most difficult part for any athlete in any sport to overcome. If those facts that I've observed offend you,

Well...okay.

Don't bother with him, he's a Cal bootlicker.
