Does anyone think the highest ranking hole (skipper) has jay on the underground payroll working to spread the word that the cheats are innocent of all wrong doing???

Obviously Jay is in the same boat as Ol' Huck. They have never read the NOA. It is unbelievable that that someone so smart could be so stupid.

Love Jay Bilas. Total professional and Coach K probably had a lot to do with the man Jay is today. Honest, does his homework and without a doubt is the best in his field just like coach K. How would we feel if he was bias totally towards Duke. IMO he gives Duke due credit and is a Dukie. He comes and gives back just like the rest of many of our former players and you don't hear Coach K saying anything about his thoughts unlike Duke fans. OFC

I agree he does a great job and is totally unbiased and professional. But the cheats have been exposed on so many levels of corruption and he is still going to bat for them.

I think he is just following the company line from the top. The only people at espn that have said anything about the UNC scandal have been peripheral members of the staff, none of the headliners.

And even those peripheral employees that have written or reported anything have done it with an extreme amount of wishy washy statements.

Jay Bilas has always taken the NCAA to task. Always! It makes no difference who the program was that he was talking about.

Jay Bilas is not a sympathizer for anyone. He is simply doing his job and speaking how he is interpreting the situation. The man is a lawyer, so I think he knows a little more about things that some guy on a message board that wants him to do nothing but criticize anyone but Duke.

Bilas is one of the few guys who is consistent with his argument. I disagree with some stuff he say, but always respect his point of view

Yeah, Jay is a great guy and Dukie, but that doesn't mean I can't disagree with him. I disagree with him plain and simple. There are many posters on here who agree that there have been some serious shite going on over at Chapel Hill (and yes, mens basketball is a part of it IMO). If you agree with that statement, then you disagree with Jay. And that's not an attack on Jay's character, just a difference of opinions.

Yeah Jay always has and always will be one of us. He isn't a Hole anything, he just hates the NCAA and takes any and every chance to spit on their name.

I stopped following the Cheat scandal months ago. I suggest you all do too, then use all that stored energy after a decision is handed down in the spring. We can either rejoice loudly or grab the pitchforks then.

Haha, it's a great idea in theory, Denver, but hard to do! And the reason it's so hard to do is that THR is constantly spinning it...and the nuggets that come out of it are just way too funny to ignore.:D

This, it's a waste of time at this point. When you are the model program who cares what others are doing to keep up.

I'm pretty much all for a level field/court when it comes to collegiate athletics. If Bilas and/or the NCAA or whomever wanna ditch academic requirements for athletes and allow players to accept all manner of payment from anywhere/anyone for services rendered , fine. Until then though , I'm gonna insist that everyone get on the same page...gonna insist that serial offenders not be lyin' , holier-than-thou hypocrites who point the dirty end of the stick at everyone else for God knows how long too. That's not askin' a whole lot either. And btw..."scandal fatigue" affects everyone but unx is counting on it as a defense vs the most egregious offenses ever recorded in the NCAA. We're in Year 5 so it was a bit of a miscalculation on their part but it's still part of the plan. Anyway , whatever happened to holdin' someone accountable for their actions? This ain't a particularly unique idea...especially when ya figure in the amount of damage done by unx ( and those with ties to it ) to rival schools. Put Duke in this position...or State. Anyone remember lacrosse? LACROSSE!? God forbid , had that been K. Pretty sure there was a unx lawyer and unx sympathies drivin' all that. Pretty sure the unx message boards wouldn't be echoing the same lamentations I see here if it was Duke under the microscope...and they'd have the political/media clout to make it hurt.

Jay is extremely intelligent and knows his sport just as a top analyst should. If he was not held in such high esteem it would be much easier to call him out about his support of UNC and I wonder if he sometimes over does it where support of the UNC scandal is concerned. He is an accomplished Dukie and wants to be totally impartial so he appears to go against our grain at times. He has said some things in the past couple of years that I don't agree with but who am I to disagree.
