I will get killed for this but he is absolutely atrosious when calling Duke games. He's the best in the buisness when calling all other games, but it's okay to give Duke some credit even though he graduated from here. No wonder K isn't fond of him...

Yep, I will respond to myself.... he tries soooo hard to be non biased that he is incredibly biased against Duke.
I've never heard that before. Care to elaborate? I always thought everyone at Duke loved him.
I like Jay a lot, and he's a great Dukie...but...I prefer him in non-Duke games. Took him 15 minutes and 12 replays before he decided that Frank Mason deserved his 2nd foul...after calling it a bad call forever. I know he doesn't want to show any favoritism to Duke, but it's beginning to grind on me after all these years...maybe I'm just getting old...wait a minute...I am! He's still a great guy though.

I listened to him for about 2 minutes then hit the mute button and watched in silence. He's a great guy. He really is. But listening to him call Duke games is just.....no.
I also muted the TV with about 7 minutes to go because I couldn't take any more of Bilas. He was pulling for Kansas in about everyway possible. I'll be ok if I never hear him call a Duke game, ever.

My wife and I, both Duke alums, just find him a broken record. I'm sure he loves Duke, and over-compensates by seeming anti-Duke, but I just find him annoying to listen to regardless of who's playing.
Nope, coach K has stated more than once that he isn't fond of Billas. It all stems of his "buying into the flop and floor slap" a quick google search would do wonders for this board. Bilas is a please all (minus Duke) kinda guy cause he thinks he already has Duke. Damn guys, do some research! He is awful calling Duke games plain and simple!
I guess K asking Jay to speak to 4 of his last 5 Duke teams really illustrates his dislike huh?

Biggset issue I had was when he kept saying that the Josh Jackson technical was not a technical.
At least it's not Elmore. I roll my eyes at Bilas 3-4 times per game, but Elmore actually makes me angry. It's the announcers whose names I don't know that I typically enjoy.
He does go out of his way to not show any Duke bias but he IS annoying as hell. And a bit too arrogant at times as well.
Bilas, McDonough & Raferty was the best. Miss that crew especially at Maui.
I like Bilas for analysis - he is one of the best. He was absolutely annoying last night because of harking on the fouls - he was a broken record.
Woof, he was annoying as ****, and I am generally a pro-Bilas guy. But holy hell, you don't need to comment on every... single... foul. More time spent analyzing a guard's play style or how a rebounder boxes out effectively, please.
He does over do it sometimes trying to not show bias, but K not liking him, ummmm that's just stupid.
This sums my views up best...If he could just back off a little...I liked Jay much better years ago, before his gig went to his head..

I don't believe for one second Jay and Coach K have any sort of issues. Yes I feel as well he goes out of his way not to look biased towards Duke and it gets on my effin nerves but when we are winning it's not as bad

Nobody hates Duke more than Sean McDouchebag. Like having Steat or DSouthR calling the game.
Agreed, dead ball situation and was totally out of line. Give Amile credit for noting it to officials, and at same time keeping his own poise. I would have expected a T if it had been one of our guys as well...
